Hello We are Hiring Role: IT Operations Engineer Location: New York, NY JOB DESCRIPTION: - We are seeking for an IT Operations Engineer to join our IT Operations team.
- You will be responsible for day-to-day administration of the server/network infrastructure and related systems, utilizing cloud provisioning tools, and automating tasks using a scheduler.
- You'll be highly detail-oriented and comfortable working independently as well as within a team.
- You'll be learning about and working extensively with Linux, scripting, and AWS.
- We're small, agile, casual (no suits shoes optional), and passionate about our mission and the projects we create.
SPECIAL NOTES: - Must be able to go to the office 3x per week local, commutable.
- There is a ROTATIONAL SCHEDULE(link removed)>
- Every 3rd month or so they will work 2pm 10pm EST(link removed) They generally aren't required to go into the office for those shifts outside of an extraordinary situation. The rest of the time will be regular office hours 9-5ish.
- There is an on-call responsibility associated with this role: 1st month and 1st month out of the 2pm shift no on call; 3am 3pm when working 9 5; 3pm 3am when working 2 10.
- Mid-level role ideally working with systems engineering and Devops for at least 5 yrs.; able to be fairly independent (2pm shift is solo for ); no Lead/Senior/Manager/VP
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Monitor systems and applications including Linux, Windows, and AWS services.
- Deploy applications across a multitude of servers and operating systems hosted on AWS.
- Use Bash and Python scripting to automate processes.
- Build/monitor/troubleshoot/fix Prod/Test/Dev environments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Work with CI/CD tools, tasks schedulers, and Amazon Web Services
QUALIFICATIONS: - 3 - 6 years of Linux experience at an internship or on the job
- 3 - 6 years of scripting experience on Linux
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, subnetting, routing, firewall policies, and best practices
- Familiarity with writing SQL queries to troubleshoot data issues.
- Familiarity with windows administration
- Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor's degree required. Any certifications are a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, and customers.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: - AWS (or any other cloud services) experience/certification
- Experience with Teamcity or Terraform
- Ability to troubleshoot file transfer using ftp, ftps, sftp, ssh, and http/https
