Position Summary:
Alene Candles LLC & Midwest is a private label, contract manufacturer that produces high-quality candles for some of the worlds most recognized retail, boutique, and cosmetic brands. We are seeking a Transportation Specialist for 1st shift. The Transportation Specialist creates, coordinates and completes shipments of goods between the company and vendor or customers. This position will manage shipments and the transport of goods.
Pay: $22/hour
Shift: Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6am
Job Functions (of this position):
- Main point of contact for shipping
- Verifies freight loads against Purchase Orders and Sale Orders
- Schedules and tracks outbound freight
- Calls and schedules carriers daily
- Ensures all carriers meet tolerances and specification requirements
- Maintains accurate and up to date profiles on vendor routing guides
- Inventory and record all diversified orders for all shipments
- Post shipments to MRP system
- Coordinate shipments to ensure on-time deliveries of goods to customers
- Critical, time sensitive decision making
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years experience in a logistics environment
- Excellent follow through
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent Communicate Skills
- Detail Oriented
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- APICS
- Experience with seasonal business
- Ability to work well under pressure
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or touch; reach, talk, hear and smell. The employee may be required to, kneel, crouch, sit, climb or balance. The employee may lift and/or move up to more than 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and aromas. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
