Requirements

As part of our Engineering team, the Automation Specialist will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process. Troubleshoot component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photosensors, HMI's (Human Machine Interface), PLCs, monitoring systems, and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth and uninterrupted operation for Bottling, Disgorge, and Wine Production processes, the Automation Technician, will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities, gaps, and future opportunities.


Responsibilities:

  • Be proactive in conducting troubleshooting and repairs as well as providing recommendations on automation systems to ensure quality, performance, and ease of use of automation systems for production, maintenance, winemaking, and cellar department.
  • Support DCC teams deliver capital expenditure projects on system automation: bring expertise during conception, organize and coordinate integration with designated trades, deliver necessary documentation and information at project closing.
  • Communicating directly with OEMs and helping support remote interventions and improvements. (20%)
  • Lead assessment Actions of the current condition of manufacturing and wine processing equipment and develop action plans to maintain equipment performance.
  • Develop and conduct necessary Preventative maintenance procedures to prevent failure and hazardous behavior.
  • Be the link between the IT department and Production in supporting the deployment of a SCADA system and effort to develop the industrial network.
  • Provide support to the Engineering team to strengthen the Asset directory by updating, creating, and tagging assets as well as recording their characteristics.
  • Be the lead to develop critical Electrical and Automation component inventory.

Specific Job Knowledge, skill, and ability in:

  • Interpreting documentation (technical manuals)

  • Calibrating, loop checking, and troubleshooting
  • DC & AC circuits
  • Pneumatic fundamentals
  • Electrical fundamentals

Professional experience & know-how:

  • 3-5 years experience of related experience
  • Technical Degree in Instrumentation, Electronic Communications or Industrial Electronics, or equivalent
  • Experience in supporting, maintaining, and/or upgrading manufacturing automation systems
