Happier People Management seeks a Director of FF&E to join our team for a new project in Manhattan, designed as a work/play 32-story building of coworking spaces, offices, dining, retail, health and wellness areas as members community for creative individuals and businesses. The Director of FF&E is responsible for managing FF&E research, sourcing, and procurement and working with the In-House design team of architects, project and construction managers, and outside designers and vendors to execute design ideas and take them from concept and
production through installation and final styling. Reports To: Owner Responsibilities - Creating presentations for ownership approval
- Deep knowledge of global luxury but using commercial FF&E vendors of the highest standard
- Experience with commissioning custom products
- Managing specifications, budgeting, shop drawings, and delivery and installation
- schedules and construction coordination
- Liaise with the interior designers and other consultants (lighting, landscape, kitchen), purchasing agents and owners to determine a direction and approval process
- Must understand complex logistics, storage, and transportation for high-end vintage and
- antique pieces procured at the flea market, at auction, or from galleries
- Tracking team progress toward deadlines
- Help manage the transmission of information to and from consultants and internal partners (downloads, uploads, file storage)
- Maintaining tracking documents for open design items to be referenced when generating meeting agendas
- Logging and filing incoming invoices, submittals, and other external correspondence
- Participation in project coordination calls
- Maintaining sample library
- Must know vendors and artisans for refinishing and re-upholstery of unique pieces
- Must be incredibly organized, efficient, and communicative
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, RevIt, Vectorworks, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite
Requirements - A positive attitude and ability to work as a team member
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Manage specifications, shop drawings, budgeting, and delivery
- Knowledge of suppliers and manufacturers, both local and international
- Strong technical skills: MAC proficient, adobe photoshop, In Design and AutoCAD
- Well organized
- Able to multi-task and prioritize
- Able to set up policies and procedures for team to follow
- Hospitality experience preferred.
