Klosterman Baking Company, a leader in the food production industry, is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Regulatory & Compliance Labeling Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all of our products are labeled accurately and meet the proper regulatory requirements of the food industry. They will work closely with our production and quality control departments to ensure that all labels comply with industry regulations and that all mandated information is included on the label.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of FDA regulations as they pertain to labeling of food products.
• Review all product packaging and labeling to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and maintain accurate product labeling that is both attractive and compliant.
• Create and maintain a database of labeling information for all products, including ingredient lists, nutritional information and appropriate disclaimers.
• Respond to regulatory officials and customer inquiries related to labeling and compliance issues.
• Coordinate internal audits of new product packaging, including ingredient declarations and nutrition information, to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Stay up-to-date on any changes to labeling regulations and communicate changes to relevant departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of FDA regulations for food labeling.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the food industry, with specific experience in labeling and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with nutrition labeling software, such as Genesis or ESHA, is preferred.
• HAACP Certification is required
