    Responsibilities include:

    • Open and close exam lanes and ensure all supplies are stocked.
    • Communicate patient flow with the team to keep the schedules running on time.
    • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
    • Completes various documents and forms such as consent forms, FMLA, work releases, etc.
    • Take patients' medical histories, perform workups, and perform ophthalmic diagnostic exams to obtain the information needed for diagnosis
    • Sterilize instruments to maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
    • Help instruct the patient in the care and treatment of eye conditions
    • Assist with applying dressings to the eye post-surgically
    • Ensure all medical records are accurate and complete
    • Triages phone calls from patients and outside contacts

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of medical coding, and terminology preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, G-Suite products, and strong keyboarding skills.
  • Flexibility to effectively work alone or in a team
  • Demonstrated multitasking and adaptability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Enjoy working with the elderly population
  • Comfortable with communication via phone, internet, and in-person
  • Maintain and follow HIPAA procedures and policies
