OSP Fielder Fiber Splicer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned: - Interpret OSP designs and splicing schematics
- Installation and dressing of fiber optic cabling
- Troubleshoot fiber optic links and certify fiber optic links
- Knowledge of OSP facilities according to engineered work orders or service orders
- Responsible for fiber splicing including ribbon spicing and ribbonizing loose tube.
- Fiber testing (including OTDR) to meet industry standards per engineering design.
- Experience with a Fujikura Splicer is ideal
- Previous experience working as an individual contributor
- Ability to work through and collect all associated data for a close out package
- Must accept direction from management openly to meet Company Objectives
- Must have own working and reliable vehicle
- Must have own basic OSP field tools
Requirements Qualifications: - 3-5+ years OSP Fiber splicing experience
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
- Ability to travel and work on call, evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Experience with fiber pulling
- Current certifications on various types of fiber splicing and knowledge a plus
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Valid driver's license required
