Our firm has a client in Oil &Gas Industry that is seeking a Director, Sustainability, in Houston, Texas.

Location: Houston-Texas, onsite.

Role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Director, Sustainability within our Environmental and Sustainability team based in Houston, Texas(link removed) This position will engage with personnel from all our business lines, including our domestic and international oil and gas operations, our chemicals segment and manufacturing sites, and our low-carbon venture subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading strategies and processes that advance Company vision and identify areas for sustainability enhancement.
  • Developing and implementing new initiatives that augment Company sustainability goals as well as managing existing programs.
  • Developing, analyzing, validating, and reporting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data, metrics, goals, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring industry trends and reporting and providing responses to ESG questionnaires from analysts, lenders, government agencies, and rating organizations.
  • Providing expert insight to and updating sustainability and ESG webpages and collateral materials in conjunction with Company Corporate Secretary, Investor Relations, Human Resources, and Corporate Affairs functions.
  • Participating in ESG-related initiatives and organizations and representing Company in external forums.
  • Qualifications & Experience Required:
    Bachelor or higher degree in engineering or environmental science and a minimum of 20 years of related work experience associated with the energy sector or chemical operations.
  • Experience in sustainability programs and ESG metrics and reporting.
  • Strong experience in effective engagement with environmental, human rights, and climate-focused organizations.
  • Experience in both the domestic and international energy sector or chemical operations is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft suite of applications, GHG software such as e-GGRT or SANGEA).
  • Project leadership/management experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to coach and mentor direct reports and Company affiliated business lines to drive continuous improvement in the organization.
  • Fluent in English. Multi-lingual in French, Spanish, or Arabic is strongly preferred.
