Position Summary

As the Sr Manager of Finance Reporting & Technical Accounting, you will provide leadership, training and guidance around the application of accounting policies, SEC reporting, implementation of US GAAP / IFRS pronouncements, leadership of SOX 404 efforts along with acting as a subject matter expert on all technical accounting topics. This role will also work closely with external auditors, statutory accountants, actuaries, and legal counsel to timely resolve complex accounting issues for the timely filing of SEC reports for both quarterly reviews and annual audits. This will be a highly visible role that reports to the VP, Finance, partners closely with executive leadership and the entire collaborative Finance and IT team.


Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, take ownership of and maintain a strong external reporting environment in keeping with the requirements of a publicly traded company.
  • Lead the accurate and timely month-end close process. Activities include recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and roll-forwards, performing detailed account analysis.
  • Ensure that the Company establishes and maintains effective internal control environment.
  • Prepare and review of SEC filings including but not limited to Form 10-K, 10-Q, quarterly and annual reports to shareholders with related footnotes and schedules.
  • Perform technical accounting consultations and resolution of complex accounting transactions.
  • Manage SOX compliance and annual testing.
  • Implement new accounting standards including issuance and updating of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Interact with subsidiaries and other corporate departments to coordinate the timing and the contents of all deliverables.
  • Manage accounts payable and employee expense reporting.
  • Responsible for share-based compensation accounting and maintenance of equity administration system.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting
  • Big 4 experience and CPA required
  • 8-10 years of finance experience required including corporate
  • Experience with the preparation or review of company SEC filings and application of U.S. GAAP rules to complex technical accounting issues (including collaboration agreements, consolidation, lease, and share-based compensation accounting)
  • Experience with NetSuite and Equity Edge On-line preferred
  • Strong Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to interact with all levels of management
