Our Clerk Typist II - Court Aide position within the Children, Youth and Families department will perform a variety of assigned functions that are clerical and support in nature with department specific hearings, reviews, and status conferences. Our hire will perform duties relevant to placement review hearings, permanency review and status correspondences, due process hearings, and various other hearings. This could include tasks such as scheduling hearings, generating reports, logs, correspondences, motions, orders, petitions, recommendations, and summaries. Other duties can include typing court orders, petitions, motions, subpoenas, summaries, affidavits, appeal letters, notices, and summonses. Our hire will obtain necessary signatures for workflow, notarization, files documents with Prothonotary, copies, faxes, emails, or mails documents forms, appointment information to each relevant party. Other duties could include maintaining records and logs of all hearings and outcomes for preparation of audit purposes and keep up to date on mailing requirements and work with Agency solicitor as warranted. This position also requires attendance for meetings, trainings, seminars, and conferences.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; clerical experience is preferred, as well as being proficient in typing. Qualified candidates will have experience dealing with the public on sensitive and confidential issues, effective interpersonal and communications skills; courteous, professional, patient demeanor; experience maintaining confidentiality. Computer literacy is required.

Benefits

This position is temporary, not to exceed 5 months and 29 days, with the opportunity to move to a full-time status with a successful application through the Pennsylvania Civil Service process. A competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 30 calendar days and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with vision and three-tier prescription components, pension plan, public employer's equivalent of 401(k), short-term disability, term life insurance, 14 annual paid holidays, and ample time-off provisions are available to the full-time hire; temporary hires are not benefits eligible.
