Our Clerk Typist II - Fiscal Aide position within the Children, Youth, and Families Department will perform a variety of assigned functions that are clerical and support in nature with department specific support functions to assist the daily operation of the Fiscal Unit. Our hire will perform duties that document and generate all necessary information pertaining to IV-E funding for children in placement by filing, maintaining, and updating folders. This position acts as a liaison between Children, Youth, and Families (CYF) and Blair County Assistance Office (BCAO) for medical coverage for children in placement, also participates in conferences with Domestic Relations conferences, gathers orders, enters orders into Child Accounting and Profile System (CAPS) for children in placement, and prepares correspondence to DRS, generates various correspondence with BCAO, proofreads orders and motions, creates and maintains folders, orders birth certificates for child adoptions, prepares and mails letters, maintains accurate up-to date certificates of compliance for the agency, and sends out appeal letters for permanent legal custodianship and adoption subsidy recipients. This position also reviews contents of files in preparation of audits, attends meetings, training, seminars, and conferences as required, and performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; clerical experience is preferred, as well as being proficient in typing. Qualified candidates will have experience dealing with the public on sensitive and confidential issues, effective interpersonal and communications skills; courteous, professional, patient demeanor; experience maintaining confidentiality. Computer literacy is required.

Benefits

This position is temporary, not to exceed 5 months and 29 days, with the opportunity to move to a full-time status with a successful application through the Pennsylvania Civil Service process. A competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 30 calendar days and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with vision and three-tier prescription components, pension plan, public employer's equivalent of 401(k), short-term disability, term life insurance, 14 annual paid holidays and ample time-off provisions are available to the full-time hire; temporary hires are not benefits eligible.
