Our Clerk Typist I - Clerical Stats position within the Children, Youth, and Families Department will perform assigned duties that are clerical in nature. Distribute correspondences, upload law enforcement correspondence, type and mail appointment letters for Family Service Plans (FSP) or Child Permanency Plans (CPP), attend the FSP or CPP meetings, and type corresponding plans, distribute forms and LEO correspondence, and type appeal letters relating to these plans, distributing these to the attendees of the meetings, attend Fatality/Near Fatality Review team meetings, and type meeting minutes, record meeting minutes, print documents, type reviews in department software, and maintain accurate records. Duties would also include relieving the receptionist by answering phone calls, direct calls to other departments, greet individuals at the department window, contact appropriate personnel within the Agency, and opening and distributing mail.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; clerical experience is preferred, as well as being proficient in typing. Qualified candidates will have experience dealing with the public on sensitive and confidential issues, effective interpersonal and communications skills; courteous, professional, patient demeanor; experience maintaining confidentiality. Computer literacy is required.

Benefits

This position is temporary, not to exceed 5 months and 29 days, with the opportunity to move to a full-time status with a successful application through the Pennsylvania Civil Service process. A competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 30 calendar days and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with vision and three-tier prescription components, benefit pension plan, public employer's equivalent of 401(k), short-term disability, term life insurance, 14 annual paid holidays and ample time-off provisions are available to the full-time hire; temporary hires are not benefits eligible.
