About the role

Softheon is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator that will join our team to help build, maintain, monitor, support, diagnose, and repair Softheons physical and virtual systems and networking infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and implement best practices to optimize our cloud-based systems. Additionally, you may be needed to provide second level technical support escalation to the Softheon Helpdesk for the internal staff of Softheon.

Requirements

You will:

  • Receive and coordinate resolutions to technical support calls and requests for the IT team;
  • Deploy, monitor, and Administer Softheon Fleet of Virtual Machines;
  • Oversee performance management and maintenance tasks for Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual Machine;
  • Monitor Uptime and availability of critical systems;
  • Implement and manage Azure Active Directory, identity and access management, and security controls.
  • Oversee ongoing performance tuning, hardware, and software upgrades and optimization as needed for system and networking infrastructure;
  • Lead changes and upgrades to Softheons system, network, and security infrastructure with internal staff and third party vendors;
  • Respond to, evaluate, and promptly resolve or escalate severity system and network outages;
  • Communication downtime, upgrades, and other information to appropriate teams as necessary;
  • Provide technical support, resolve incidents, and participate in on-call rotation for critical system issues.
  • Advise the Softheon Helpdesk on tasks and help to develop methods and procedures to increase helpdesk efficiency on duties;
  • Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware, and software upgrades and optimization as needed for end user workstations;
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.


You have:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • 5 years of related experience required
  • 5+ years of Microsoft server administration experience required
  • Technical expertise in identifying, diagnosing, and evaluating end-user computer and account issues, and developing effective mitigation and repair methods
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services and administration, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center, and Azure Monitor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong etiquette for internal digital communications (email or ticketing)
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently, and in a team environment
  • Experience or familiarity with
    • Microsoft Windows operating systems
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Workstation hardware troubleshooting techniques and software utilities
    • Workstation software troubleshooting techniques and resolution
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016
    • Virtualization
