Our search is for two fiscal assistants who will assist the fiscal operations officer by performing varied accounting, clerical, and support functions as part of the efficient daily operation of the Fiscal Unit within Children, Youth, and Families (CYF). Our hires will receive provider invoices for CYF and Juvenile Probation Office, will verify accuracy and codes in MUNIS accounting system, will contact service providers to discuss and rectify any inconsistencies in billing. Other essential functions of the jobs include submitting requisitions for invoice payment approval, reconciling payments, invoices in MUNIS, submitting documentation for final payments, and maintain files for audit purposes. These positions maintain and enter information into MUNIS, such as payroll information for foster care and adoption families, child support and Social Security monies received, staff payroll breakdown and wages for use in reports, and verify staff reimbursement forms. These positions also complete State Civil Service Commission updates on CYF staff, produce paternity reports, assist state and local auditors by gathering requested information for agency audits, assist commissioners with annual compensation plan to submit to State Civil Service for financial reimbursement. Our hires will perform other general correspondences, verify entries of cash receipts on a monthly basis, complete requisition forms for office supplies and client-based needs. These positions will also review contents of files in preparation of audits, attends meetings, training, seminars, and conferences as required, and performs other duties as required. Both positions run case system checks for Triage Unit or Assessment Unit as requested, in addition to filling in and performing clerk typist II - fiscal aide duties when needed. Requirements Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; clerical experience is preferred, as well as being proficient in typing. Qualified candidates will have experience dealing with the public on sensitive and confidential issues, effective interpersonal and communications skills; courteous, professional, and patient demeanor; experience maintaining confidentiality. Computer literacy is required. Benefits These positions are temporary, not to exceed 5 months and 29 days, with the opportunity to move to a full-time status with a successful application through the Pennsylvania Civil Service process. A competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 30 calendar days and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with vision and three-tier prescription components, pension plan, public employer's equivalent of 401(k), short-term disability, term life insurance, 14 annual paid holidays, and ample time-off provisions are available to the full-time hire; temporary hires are not benefits eligible.
