Allucents long-established and extensive fellows program provides rigorous, comprehensive training in all areas of regulatory and pharmaceutical product development. Over the course of 12 months, fellows participate in course work, interactive learning, and on-the-job training in regulatory and medical writing, program management, nonclinical, chemistry, manufacturing and controls, and drug development strategies. Fellows receive valuable exposure and experience while learning under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced regulatory scientist. All fellows are assigned a mentor and receive additional support and guidance from Allucent scientists, former health authority regulators, and industry experts. Coursework and interactive learning consist of master classes given by Allucents leading subject-matter experts and opportunities to attend all in-house trainings on topics such as Regulatory Affairs, Medical Writing, Program Management, Clinical Trial Monitoring, Clinical Pharmacology, Biostats, Clinical Trial Operations, and Strategies in Drug Development. Fellows are employed in the role of Scientist as full time Allucent employees, and are eligible for all benefits available at Allucent. This includes a competitive salary package, and generous medical benefits program. At the completion of the year-long program, successful fellows are eligible for a promotion to a Scientist I position.

Location: Cary, North Carolina

The Fellow participates in evaluating and proposing pre-clinical scientific studies and clinical development strategies and studies. Investigates the scientific principles and clinical targets of potential products. Develops knowledge of pharmaceutical development, clinical principles, and therapeutic areas. Serves on project teams in various roles including, but not limited to, Scientist, Medical Writer, and Assistant Project Manager.


The Fellow will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Write or co-write regulatory, clinical, and scientific documents or sections thereof, with guidance from more experienced Allucent personnel
  • Contribute to strategic/analytical discussions regarding drug, biologic, or device development issues
  • Participate in meetings with sponsors
  • Attend relevant university and company seminars, courses, and discussions to gain knowledge of drug, biologic, and device development and regulatory issues
  • Perform other scientist related duties, as assigned
  • Performs works as instructed when given detailed or general instructions on assignments
  • Acts professionally with peers and clients knows business etiquette
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
  • Completes work on problems of clearly defined scope

Requirements

  • Ph.D., or equivalent degree, in a scientific area
  • Candidates with an M.S. or equivalent degree in a scientific area and relevant experience will be considered
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal English skills
  • Builds working relationships internally
  • Thinks ahead for potential opportunities and challenges
  • Able to come into Cary, NC office at least 2 days per week.
