Cuberg, a leader in next-generation battery technology, is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager, Battery Systems to lead the development and launch of advanced battery systems for electric mobility. As the Advanced Technology Center for Northvolt, Cuberg is building an innovation ecosystem around lithium-ion technology and leveraging Northvolt's state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities to rapidly scale up production of advanced batteries. The company's groundbreaking lithium metal battery delivers generational improvements in energy density and power output and has been validated by the U.S. Department of Energy. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and scientists to design and develop battery systems that deliver longer ranges and flight times, greater payloads, and lower cost of ownership. Ideal candidates will have experience in battery systems engineering and a passion for driving innovation in the renewables and environment industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and launch of advanced battery systems for electric mobility.
• Manage a team of engineers and scientists to design and develop battery systems that deliver longer ranges and flight times, greater payloads, and lower cost of ownership.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of battery systems into products.
• Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure battery performance and reliability meet or exceed customer requirements.
• Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise and supporting customer presentations.
• Monitor industry trends and provide recommendations for new technologies and processes to improve battery systems performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in battery systems engineering, with a focus on lithium-ion and/or lithium metal battery technology.
• Strong technical background in battery design, modeling, and simulation.
• Experience managing a team of engineers and scientists.
• Experience with battery testing and validation processes.
• Strong knowledge of battery safety and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The San Francisco / Bay Area salary range for this full-time position is $160K - $240K + equity + benefits.
