Who We Are

Excellence Community Schools (ECS) is a non-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) supporting a growing network of schools in the Bronx, NY and Stamford, CT. Our programs are based on a proven, nationally recognized model, which originated in our flagship school, the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, a 2012 National Blue-Ribbon School.

Who We Need

We are searching for a results-oriented, experienced, skilled, and strategic Associate Director for Ed Tech who will support a robust Instructional Technology program to continue to advance the organizations mission by providing valuable resources, personnel, and innovations so that every scholar can achieve success. The ideal candidate must be committed to excellence, have high records of achievement, superior organizational qualities, and exceptional tech skills. S/he must also possess a passion for educational equity and public education.

Associate Director Ed Tech

Program management

  • Provide guidance on EdTech applications management and implementation
  • Research and evaluate new technologies in the EdTech space
  • Evaluate best in class corporate applications for CMO and functional business departments
  • Support data compilation and analysis for building, school, network, state, and federal reporting
  • Update campus tech policies as needed to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Support technology curriculum and use of EdTech use cases in the classroom
  • Perform assessment and planning for future/next generation EdTech platforms

Systems administration/training

  • Capture and analyze EdTech application adoption, usage and performance metrics.
  • Ability to recommend applicable tweaks and vendor recommended fixes to achieve optimal functionality
  • Provides information and/or training to school staff on the use of the SIS and application of data from the system
  • Ensure school leaders and campuses are ready for school year through license allocation

Support and troubleshoot

  • Supports and responds to general troubleshooting inquiries for software, EdTech, corporate applications and service problems
  • Ability to narrow down the root cause of issues and plan remediation efforts

Team management

  • Oversee and lead the work of IT staff through management of projects, implementation, and maintenance of EdTech and Corporate applications.
  • Guide IT staff to identifying and implementing next generation bleeding edge solutions for Education

Vendor Management

  • Establish working relationship with EdTech and corporate application vendors
  • Coordinate with vendors for end of end software management lifecycle
  • Perform frequent vendor evaluation to determine KPIs and maintenance of service quality.

Application testing/procurement

  • Research and evaluate current and new EdTech technologies
  • Deprecate end of life applications and evaluate replacement
  • Full life cycle management
  • Maintain licenses for all applications and software to ensure full compliance and planning through current and following school year

Architecture

  • Work with business to understand technology needs and integrate future solutions with little disruption
  • Work closely with Academic Team, Operations and School Leaders to onboard latest EdTech solutions
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to support CMO, parents, teachers and scholars.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree with a concentration in the fields of IT/IS, Computer Science, or other relevant fields of study
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the administration, support, and maintenance of EdTech applications in a cloud as well as hosted environment
  • Working knowledge of K12 EdTech systems in a school environment including Illuminate, SIS, Clever, SchoolMint, Google Administration For Education (GAFE), Office 365, and others
  • Experience working with Azure, SharePoint, Teams, Microsoft, and Google environment
  • Troubleshooting skills with EdTech administration, Account login and password issues

  • Demonstrated experience in ed tech applications and resourceful troubleshooting.
  • Technologically savvy, with an ability to develop and implement new processes and systems that increase learning and efficiency.
  • Flexible and a self-starter, able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission of the organization.

  • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range -($65,000-$90,000)
