Current Opportunity


The AVP of Enterprise Strategic Sourcing shall spearhead the formulation and execution of contracts and procurement strategies across the Aveanna enterprise. This role entails providing guidance to designated sourcing personnel and product/service teams, ensuring adept management of total cost of ownership. Through close collaboration within the organization, the AVP shall establish priorities for reducing costs and elevating service standards. Fostering a culture of collaboration, the AVP of Enterprise Strategic Sourcing shall lead teams with the momentum to approach new challenges positively. Additionally, this role will involve skillful negotiation of product/equipment/service agreements to uphold financial performance, quality benchmarks, and heightened service expectations.


The AVP will hold the mandate to devise and implement strategies that augment operational efficiency, generate cost savings, and elevate the overall caliber of the supply chain. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the AVP of Enterprise Strategic Sourcing shall be accountable for cultivating a culture of innovation, motivating teams to embrace fresh opportunities, and securing agreements that align with financial goals and service excellence.


Responsibilities & Qualifications


Essential Job Functions:


Procurement Strategy And Leadership


  • Assess, design, implement a company-wide sourcing strategy including associated policies taking input from stakeholder groups in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Provide leadership in all sourcing activities specific to non- labor expenses and responsible for managing the end-to-end activities for supply and purchased services contracting, and vendor relationship management.
  • Proactively develop and execute sourcing strategies in line with annual objectives that drive financial value and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with accounts payable, to ensure that the prices negotiated with suppliers are accurately reflected in the invoicing and payment processes. This collaboration will help prevent discrepancies, overbilling, and payment errors, safeguarding the organization's financial exposure.
  • Lead and mentor procurement professional staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, customer service and innovation.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business needs and company financial and service goals.
  • Educate and enforce compliance with procurement policies and ensure adoption; support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work with procurement systems (IT) to identify and develop tools to effectively manage the sourcing process, monitor savings and service levels.
  • Contribute to special projects across the Enterprise Sourcing team (supplier diversity, sustainability, metrics implementation, supplier management, and process improvements)


Vendor Management And Negotiation


  • Leverage the enterprise's buying power in categories of spend that are common across all operations, employing state-of-the-art sourcing methods and technologies, implementing standardization and consistent procurement policies to include contract compliance.
  • Lead major supplier negotiations and RFPs to achieve optimal value and ensure supplier business reviews are in place to monitor service levels, contract compliance and overall performance.
  • Oversee the supplier selection and negotiation process for sourcing team and support the resolution of vendor performance issues.
  • Work with key stakeholders and suppliers to manage supplier cost, performance, issue resolution and development of new capabilities; give suppliers feedback on performance, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Oversee GPO relationship and ensure membership alignment and optimal contract coverage for product and services spend.


Process Optimization


  • Evaluate and enhance procurement processes to streamline workflows, increase procurement efficiency, ensure data quality/completeness and reduce costs.
  • Work with accounts payable and finance to ensure the procure to pay process is optimized and aligned from requisition, receipt to payment (eliminating order exceptions).
  • Implement best practices in procurement, including e-procurement tools, digital solutions, and data analytics.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the procurement & sourcing lifecycle and work with departments to resolve and monitor results.


Supply Chain Risk Management


  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity.
  • Stay informed and manage market trends, manufacturer service levels, regulatory changes that could impact financial and product availability/continuity.
  • Assist in the process of mitigating supply related issues (when appropriate).


Budget Management And Cost Savings


  • Accountable for the identification, implementation and realization of annual cost reduction targets including both operating and capital expenditures.
  • Collaborate with finance, departments and divisions to establish budgets and implementation of savings.
  • Coordinate and report procurement plans, activities, and results with key representatives across departments and company divisions.
  • Monitor spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction and savings without compromising quality or patient care.


Reporting And Analytics


  • Compile and present regular reports on contractual, standardization activities, and performance metrics, and savings achieved against budget.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Development of advanced cost models, rate card analysis, spend analysis and supplier performance scorecards.


Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience successfully leading and executing strategic sourcing initiatives resulting in year-over-year reductions in total cost.
  • Progressively responsible experience in sourcing/contract administration with at least 3 years of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strategic mindset to enable persuasive value conversations with vendors, stakeholders and executives at all levels.
  • Technical systems experience, ability to design tools and processes to support job function and automation.
  • Champions new ideas and/or direction motivating others.
  • Identity or is aware of challenges, obstacles or issues and takes ownership to implement desired solutions.
  • Ability to deconstruct and solve complex business problems; analyze situations, develop strategies, present & persuade others of strategy, effectively & efficiently execute.
  • Translate requirements and data analyses into audience appropriate presentations to recommend strategies and guide decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong project/program management skills.
  • Experience in Workday procurement preferred.
