Requisition #: 71979 The Role at a Glance The Associate Actuary, Annuity/RPS Model Production, is a modeling and valuation role within the Variable Annuity Model Production Team. This position plays an integral role in the statutory modeling and reporting of variable annuities under VM-21 for statutory reserves, capital, hedging and rating agencies. This role will support monthly and quarterly financial reporting by building and running models in MG-ALFA and GGY-AXIS, aggregating and analyzing results, and communicating results to key stakeholders. The position will also leverage data tools (Dataiku and Tableau) to streamline processes and develop further insights into our variable annuity business. What you'll be doing Actuarial Modeling: Understand the Variable Annuity models and identify areas where modeling can be improved. Maintain and expand knowledge to recognize model and process improvement opportunities. Production Reporting: Function in a production environment with tight audit controls and orderly documentation. Maintain a strong emphasis on attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting. Understand drivers of change from the models and improve methods to effectively communicate results. Balance priorities of various ad hoc requests. Modernization: Partner with the model development team as annuity models are migrated to AXIS. Build on existing automation efforts with Dataiku and Tableau to increase efficiency, gain insight into the analysis of results, reduce the potential for error, and improve presentation of results. Embrace a continuous improvement mindset to constantly innovate and enhance all aspects of the production processes. Team Environment: Work with a team of professionals on a variety of projects including the production, analysis, and communication of results from the actuarial models. Relationship Building: Deliver informative analysis and results from the actuarial models by partnering and collaborating with other functional areas across the company including Accounting Close, Financial Planning & Analysis, Market Risk Management, Pricing, Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Investments and Corporate Actuarial. Regulation: Maintain and expand knowledge of Variable Annuity statutory regulations and best practices. Stay current on potential regulation changes within the industry. What were looking for Must-haves: 3-6+ years of experience in actuarial science At least 7 actuarial exams passed; typically has ASA designation, progressing towards FSA designation Driven, motivated and resourceful Embraces change and adapts quickly to identify and solve challenges Self-starter with ability to work independently Nice-to-haves: Variable annuity product knowledge is preferred but not required MG-ALFA, GGY AXIS, Dataiku and Tableau experience preferred Whats it like to work here?
