Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, the Prospect Strategy Manager is responsible for analyzing data and providing strategic information on achieving advancement and alumni engagement goals. This position will manage donor analytics data and collaborate with the Advancement and Alumni Engagement staff to provide recommendations-based analysis to ensure the team is maximizing fundraising potential across giving channels.


Summary

The Prospect Strategy Manager will collaborate with colleagues across fundraising teams, campus partners and vendors to provide requested data pulls, prospect research, and assessment on how to address data challenges, drive data objectives and revenue growth.

This position serves as a key member of the Advancement Services team, assisting with the management of the donor and alumni database, optimizing data gathered from integrated platforms and monitoring the best use and tracking of current and new data sources.

Strategy and Donor Analytics

  • Develop and employ analytical techniques and visualization tools to drive a more strategic fundraising and alumni engagement process through forecasting data models, prospect ranking tools and new strategies for mining and tracking prospects.
  • Support fundraising teams on their individual fundraising goals through segmentation strategies, prospect research, giving trends and cross-team data projects.
  • Assist with designing integrated dashboards and portfolio management tools highlighting fundraising KPIs and performance metrics that will help inform strategies.
  • Manage prospecting efforts using Raisers Edge and other external databases to meet prospect identification and prioritization needs.
  • Use data to build a prospect pipeline to include all stages of the donor cycle Identification, Qualification, Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship.
  • Establish prospect pipeline guidelines and workflows that ensure a steady flow of new prospects with the goal of relationship managers moving all assignments through the donor cycle.
  • Customize pipeline strategies for major giving prospects based on data to better identify and strategize next steps while working in close collaboration with relationship managers.
  • Assist with capturing constituent interests and behavioral metrics related to commitments of time, talent, treasure, and social engagement.
  • Participate in monthly moves management meetings and quarterly portfolio reviews with relationship managers.
  • Assist with monitoring performance metrics and ensure that actions, strategies, and proposals are being accurately tracked.

Prospect and Portfolio Optimization

  • Use data to build a prospect pipeline to include all stages of the donor cycle Identification, Qualification, Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship.
  • Establish prospect pipeline guidelines and workflows that ensure a steady flow of new prospects with the goal of relationship managers moving all assignments through the donor cycle.
  • Customize pipeline strategies for major giving prospects based on data to better identify and strategize next steps while working in close collaboration with relationship managers.
  • Assist with capturing constituent interests and behavioral metrics related to commitments of time, talent, treasure, and social engagement.

Data Segmentation and Reporting

  • Gather, filter and segment data sets for the purposes of identifying, classifying, and refining rated prospect lists and pools for fundraising and alumni activities.
  • Generate a variety of queries, exports, and lists as part of the Advancement Services team, fullfilling data requests on a regular basis.
  • Identify overall trends and patterns in giving, event participation and make recommendations to positively influence fundraiser and campaign activity.
  • Fulfill ad hoc requests for special campaigns, initiatives, and events to help drive smart decisions.
  • Make recommendations for database modifications needed to support effective reporting and analysis.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in development.
  • Experience with fundraising databases required; Raisers Edge or a similar CRM experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of, and experience using, online databases to research individual and institutional donors.
  • Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park Universitys mission of Christian higher education.
  • Have good attention to detail and excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Be customer friendly and hospitable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Desired:

  • Passion for identifying strong prospect candidates for visits and then undertaking additional investigative research.
  • Curiosity and an interest in developing strong partnerships with major gift officers and cross campus partners.
  • Ability to independently manage own workload and priorities, ensuring deadlines are met with quality product.
  • Familiarity with moves management approach to major gift fundraising.
  • Willingness to assist with Advancement and Alumni Engagement events outside business hours.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in accordance with the CASE Statement of Ethics.
  • Demonstrable commitment to leading by example, modeling diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the University.
  • Have experience with Enterprise Systems.
  • Comfortable with using new technology.
