Access Services is hiring an Assistant Director of Starting Point, a mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation program serving adults across Montgomery County, with an office based out of Fort Washington, PA.

The Starting Point program offers support to individuals in the unique model of Psychiatric Rehabilitation, serving those with a mental health diagnosis, to reach their own, personally identified goals. Sometimes people need extra help to get back on their feet, find a place to live, and become a part of community life. Our practitioners meet with individuals in their own spaces to help them begin their journey toward growth and fulfillment.

Position Summary: As an Assistant Director, you will assist in the daily operations of the program, supporting quality and excellent engagement while developing and supervising Practitioners. Someone who is a good fit for the position can manage competing priorities, is able to support and coach people by holding them accountable and providing intentional training and has an attention to detail. The Assistant Director will assist in the quality and effective delivery of service by assisting in the implementation of the programs vision and strategy for growth.

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Salaried: Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm; will provide on-call support as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise lead practitioners, practitioners and certified peer specialists on a weekly basis, and interns as applicable.
  • Help ensure that the Individualized Rehabilitation Plan (IRP) for each individual is appropriate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Interface with staff from managed care, the county office, and others across the mental health system in cross service team meetings.
  • Assist in the intake process for new referrals and assist in connecting new referrals with their Practitioner.
  • Assist with the development of case reviews and staff training process.
  • Support lead practitioners in implementing the orientation process for new staff.
  • Coordinate the staffing, documentation and coordination of the programs emergency on call process.
  • Help ensure that practitioners are working toward the appropriate number of billable hours.
  • Help ensure that our services are in compliance with Access Services established policies and procedures.
  • Carry a caseload, as necessary.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, and work scheduled overtime, or be available for unplanned overtime as necessary, to meet program needs.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Two years work experience in mental health direct services

Certification:

  • Successful completion of Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Complete twelve-hour psychiatric rehabilitation orientation course required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the philosophy, values and practices in psychiatric rehabilitation services.
  • Knowledge of the helping relationship, the recovery model, and basic concepts of therapeutic intervention.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and the ability to help individuals meet their plan objectives.
  • Knowledge of pertinent community resources and facilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county and state officials, individuals, their families and the general public.
  • Ability to plan, supervise and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting laws, rules, and policies governing Access Services.
  • Ability to express ideas succinctly, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.

Benefits

Salary:

  • $48,000 to $50,000, with rates based on education and related work experience.
