Job Description

Our client, a leading copper manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Training Specialist with expertise in Instructional Design and Content Creation to join our Operations team. The Training Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees in the manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and experience in training within an industrial or manufacturing setting. This position will be at the Operations Functional level with multi-site responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations with developing and implementing a standardized and sustainable training program for the hourly workforce.
  • Design and develop engaging, interactive and effective training materials using various instructional techniques, such as e-learning, instructor-led training and blended learning.
  • Create interactive training modules of job-specific tasks for machines in the manufacturing environment.
  • Effective utilization of our Learning Management Systems designed to maintain training records and requirements also, provide support to all facilities regarding the system.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create and edit training documents, presentations, and support materials.
  • Deliver training programs to Team Members, both in-person and virtually, ensuring that the content is relevant, engaging, and easily understood.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by gathering feedback, analyzing data, and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and technologies to continuously improve and update training materials and delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that training initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in training and development, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), including administration, content development, and reporting preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience in the following skill sets: a) Training Specialist: designing and delivering various types of training programs, including e-learning, instructor-led, and blended learning. b) Instructional Designer: applying adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create effective training materials. c) Content Creator: developing engaging, relevant, and visually appealing content for training materials and support resources.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools, preferably Articulate.
  • Knowledge of evaluation techniques to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for training delivery and support.
