Job Description for Project Engineer:

Position Overview:At our client's organization, safety is paramount, and employees' well-being is a top priority. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will embody Total Quality Management (TQM) practices and utilize TQM tools in your daily work, setting a high standard for excellence. As a Project Engineer, you will work independently to conceptualize, develop, implement, and document engineering procedures. Your responsibilities will span the entire project lifecycle, from parts selection and design to construction, debugging, installation, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will engage with division management on strategic technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Champion safety and uphold safety standards throughout the organization.
• Maintain proficiency in the company's products, processes, and machinery.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including drafters, designers, and technicians, and source external resources when necessary.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure project alignment.
• Architect intricate processes and equipment, oversee construction and installation, and conduct research and experimentation for original equipment development.
• Initiate projects for new or enhanced products and processes.
• Travel to branch plants or vendors as needed to achieve project goals.
• Provide cost and schedule estimates for machinery in project proposals.
• Develop project plans and assume leadership of assigned projects, overseeing all aspects of project management, including budget control, schedule management, status reporting, customer interactions, and design goal adherence.
• Continuously enhance expertise in product, process, mechanical development, and project management through ongoing learning and development activities.
• Strengthen proficiency in advanced computer tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, AutoCAD, and project management software.
• Maintain records and produce technical reports while safeguarding intellectual property.
• Contribute innovative ideas for product development, process enhancement, and equipment innovation, with an emphasis on safety and competitive advantage.
• Exhibit a strong grasp of organizational and departmental procedures, and serve as a resource for key technical personnel. Mentor new engineers or designers during their orientation and initial training phases.
• Foster close collaboration with manufacturing teams, division managers, marketing, and other relevant departments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience, equivalent to an Engineer III role or higher.
