Marketing Communications Manager - Full Time - Remote

Lyssn utilizes an array of marketing resources:

  • External agencies to assist with branding, design, copywriting, and digital marketing
  • External vendors for items like conference banners and promotional items
  • A fractional Chief Strategy Officer for marketing strategy and direction
  • Internal resources, including the sales and leadership teams, who are active across lead generation, CRM, social media, academic publications and conferences, and more
  • An external Senior Advisor for communications, media, and public affairs

Your first job is to create and manage the processes that generate marketing qualified leads to the sales organization, increasing visibility and demand. This includes creation and execution of individual campaigns and items, and coordination with an outside firm when necessary to link resources in service of our marketing and sales goals. This work will include managing logistics when necessary (e.g., ordering and overseeing printing, managing delivery to conferences, etc.), but also driving communications via targeted marketing via conferences, webinars, and case studies.

The second priority for this position will be to manage Lyssns growing social media presence, currently focused on LinkedIn and, to a lesser degree, Twitter (X). This will include, under the direction of leadership, creating, managing, and executing an editorial calendar for the year that supports specific sales goals and activities (e.g., new product rollouts, media appearances, regulatory and policy priorities, conference sponsorships, etc.) and overall Lyssn brand presence. Responsibilities here will include development and execution of social media posts, including copy and graphics, in the context of that calendar, as well as supporting the Lyssn corporate presence and, as needed, leadership and staff.

The ideal candidate is passionate about improving access to quality health and behavioral health care, and has a background in behavioral health, human services, or public policy such that they are conversant in discussions of quality, access, and technology that are current in the field. This person should have documented success driving sales through conferences, webinars, and other B2B communications tactics. They should be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, startup environment, and should be accustomed to bringing projects and campaigns to fruition independently. A history of driving social media results would be ideal. You should be able to thrive working remotely, and should demonstrate a history of strong project management and organizational skills, critical thinking, and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Agility and comfort with ambiguity are crucial for this role.


Job Type / Schedule

Full-time employee, 40 hours per week, remote. Participation in three-day, quarterly in-person retreats at a range of locations around the country (e.g., California, Arizona, Utah, New York, Seattle) may be required for this position. Employees will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend in-person meetings.


Supervision

This position is available under the direction of David Atkins, Lyssn CEO. All Lyssn employees may interact with this position at different time points via an online interactive platform. A non-disclosure agreement will be required in this position.


Essential Functions

  • Gain expert knowledge of Lyssns products and value propositions in each of its markets
  • Identify and analyze competitor positioning, strengths and weaknesses, and marketing programs
  • Serve as a primary liaison and then manager for an external firm that assists with identity, creative, strategy, and campaign execution
  • Support development of annual marketing and sales support strategic and tactical plan. This includes gathering topical and temporal priorities from product, sales, and executive teams and recommending specific tactics based on data from previous campaigns
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to structure, manage and track marketing budget
  • Develop, manage, and drive effective processes to ensure execution across collateral, longer form case studies and white papers, conference and other sales support, email marketing, online and digital marketing, and social media, including:
    • Ensure quality and timely delivery of assets, collateral, and campaigns from initial request to final delivered product
    • Maintain an organized repository of marketing materials and updating resources as needed (e.g., new markets, products)
    • Preparation and delivery of assets for conferences and other events as requested
    • Drive increased engagement and lead generation on social media, including the annual social media marketing calendar in concert with all stakeholders, and crafting effective social media copy and designs
    • Provide marketing insights to decrease the cost of customer acquisition
    • Work across teams (sales, implementation, dev, support, admin/leadership) to support business development goals

Requirements

  • Proven success in B2B health and human services or similar marketing, supporting lead generation and brand awareness, a strong focus on performance and measurement
  • Understanding of modern marketing best practices, segmentation strategies, and the ability to scale campaigns to achieve ambitious goals
  • Experience communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders in health and human services sub-fields or similar specialized arenas
  • Clear and polished written communication, synthesis and copywriting skills, design skills (infographics, flow charts, video editing) are also preferred particularly within major social media platforms
  • Excellent speaking and active listening skills
  • Natural ability to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams in a fluid early stage start-up environment
  • Proven reliability and flexibility to work independently demonstrating a high degree of organizational and project management skills and attention to detail with minimal supervision
  • Technically adept, self-motivated, and driven by data backed results
  • Outstanding negotiation skills and ability to plan and execute strategies
  • Flexibility and agility with a strong bias for action


Salary Range

The target total compensation for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 annually. New Lyssn employees are granted stock options (subject to board approval).
