This role has multiple functions inclusive of mobile vehicle operations, patient registration, assistance with care and treatment and diagnostic procedures, specimen collection and patient transport in various correctional settings and locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Driving the vehicle, oversight of maintenance needs & basic maintenance inclusive of pre-trip inspection to ensure all systems function properly, fuel purchasing, vehicle washing and log maintenance.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the mobile clinic is adequately stocked with necessary medical supplies, equipment, and medications. Conduct routine checks and maintenance to ensure all equipment is in working order.
  • Medical Documentation: Patient registration and maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, medical history, treatments provided, and any other relevant data. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Obtain vital signs.
  • Assembly and set up of supplies and equipment (PPE, Test kits, etc.)
  • Adherence to infection control measures
  • Specimen collection and perform POC testing and required test specific QA/QC
  • Obtain and complete packing and shipping of specimens.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to enhancing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the mobile clinic's operations.
  • Provide emergency medical care: Respond promptly to emergency medical situation, assess patients' conditions, and assist to administer appropriate medical care based on established protocols and guidelines and instructions from the provider.
  • Cleaning and disinfection of rooms to ensure efficient turnover and they remain free from any hazards.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in emergency medical practices, techniques, and protocols. Attend trainings, conferences, and workshops to enhance skills and maintain certification.
  • Other duties that may arise from time-to-time and/or are commensurate with the title and position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates, bachelors, or masters degree preferred
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor at all times
  • Completion of all required training and competency inclusive of additional security training for specific assignments.
  • Recent clinical experience within 6 months
  • Certification and Licensure: Possession of a valid paramedic certification and licensure in good standing in the state of Nevada is required.
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS, PALS preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to deal with high pressure
  • Flexible schedule to include late afternoon and evening hours and Overtime as needed to provide support for safety emergencies or incidents that occur after hours
  • Able to wear PPE for extended periods of time without restriction
  • Able to lift minimum 50 lbs., and bend and reach.
