Systems Engineer (Elastic) - Principal I

Location: Dulles, VA

Must have an active Secret clearance

Node is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services.

Node is seeking a Systems Engineer (Elastic) to support this critical customer mission.

Responsibilities:

Designs, implements and configures Kibana visualizations

Designs and configures Elasticsearch instance(s)

Designs Elasticsearch indices to efficiently store data currently optimizing both performance and the need for growth

Collaborate and work with a diverse group of engineers in developing solutions for ingesting heterogeneous datasets in large volumes

Deploys, configures, tests, and troubleshoots Elastic clusters and environments

Maintains and upgrades Elastic cluster and environments

Requirements

Required Skills:

U.S. Citizenship

Must have an active Secret clearance; TS/SCI is preferred

Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability

8+ years of overall engineering experience

2+ years of directly relevant experience

Demonstrated proficiency with Elastic Stack components, especially Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana

Hands-on experience with Elastic Stack Version 5.0

Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations

Desired Skills:

Experience with one or more of the following: Grok, Nodejs, Java, Ruby, and Go

Proficient with the configuration of Beats including FileBeats, MetricBeats

Familiarity with Elasticsearch 6.8.x 7.9.x a plus

Familiarity with Elastic ECE

Experience working in an agile environment

Working Knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems

Required Education:

BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.
