Role: Senior Network EngineerEmployment Type: 6-month contract (1099) with possibility of extension/conversion to full timeWorkplace Type: On-site (100%)Location: Sunnyvale, CAPay Rate: $68-$75 per hourComtech is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the Network Engineering Team of our client in Sunnyvale, California! As a senior member of the team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing their service delivery by performing various network support functions, such as troubleshooting routing and switching problems, conducting network hardware replacements and IOS updates, monitoring network performance, and recommending/implementing network enhancements to ensure optimum network uptime and optimization.KEY RESPONSIBILITES:Plan, design, recommend, install, upgrade, and support data center activities and systems for data, voice, radio, and video network infrastructures.Review and evaluate technological network-related needs, working closely with vendors to ensure successful project completion.Troubleshoot, upgrade, and configure network systems or server hardware and operating system issues to resolve problems effectively.Monitor system capacity, utilization, and performance of networks and recommend necessary restructuring or expansion.Implement security measures and disaster recovery plans to ensure network integrity and protection.Develop technical system documentation, training materials, and provide training to users and support staff.Lead and coordinate IT, departmental, and vendor resources for projects according to the project plan.Provide subject-matter expertise on complex technical issues related to networking and systems.KEY REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 5-7 years of experience in network/system engineering.Current CCNP certification.Proficient in network design and troubleshooting.Strong knowledge of ITSM systems, network traffic, performance parameters, and telecommunications theory.Familiarity with system administration, security maintenance, connectivity, system integration, and network design.Up-to-date with current developments and trends in network and server/data storage technologies.Experienced in Local Area Network wiring, Wide Area Networking Connectivity (T1, T3, and fiber backbone transports), and advanced cybersecurity practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio.Skilled in team formation, motivation, and cost-benefit analyses.---Who We AreComtech is an award winning, customer-oriented, full-service IT solutions provider serving the Civilian Federal Government, the Department of Defense and other Agencies.
