We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Quality Control Inspector! This role is based in our facility in Preston, Idaho and reports to the Shift Supervisor.

The hours are Tue - Fri from 5am until 3.30pm. The starting rate is $20.15 per hour.

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic individual with a keen eye to detail and a positive demeanor for this role. The successful candidate will focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Competently use and operate all machinery and testing equipment as appropriate to the quality control of product and raw materials in the plant.
  • Start of Run reviews and sign-offs as required with supervision.
  • Measure, test, and visually inspect all product manufactured by the Company in accordance with both internal and external standards and applicable Work Orders with supervision.
  • Recording of all relevant inspection information on the various QC forms that are generated from carrying out the daily inspection and tests. Keep and maintain adequate written records for all of the quality control information generated internally with supervision.
  • Report and document any deviations from the external or internal standards used by the Company, via the NCR process.
  • Once the internal and external standards of the Company have been met, will final inspect product and sign-off orders. Where applicable the QC Rep will identify product by using a labeling system with supervision.
  • As required, carry out secondary checks on product in stock. Re-inspect and document accordingly, product being returned by our customers for compliance adherence and review to the Company's standards.
  • Communicate any relevant information/occurrence to the next QC Rep during shift transitions. Provide information and assistance to production personnel, supervisors and management where required.
  • Provide Customer Service where required and provide assistance and information to UL, CSA, and Intertek Inspectors during plant audits and visits

Requirements

  • Completion of a high school diploma or practical equivalency
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good team player including with a demonstrated ability to contribute to and foster a positive team environment
  • Should possess leadership skills and be able to serve as a role-model to others

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant environment
  • Requires good mobility and involves varying degrees of considerable physical labor including routine walking, standing for long periods (10+ hours), bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • The use of hand tools including heat forming, pulling, belling, caps, reducer, saws, gluing
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
  • Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses.
