This role is responsible for end to end planning and optimization of our supply chain. This includes procurement, production planning, warehouse, logistics, and SAP master data management to ensure the customers requirements are met and inventory is maintained at optimal levels. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team to balance supply and demand in a constraint-based environment (capacity, labor, planned downtime, working capital, storage, etc.). This role is responsible for the development of the short and long-range plan based upon various inputs and constraints that include the demand plan, factory capacity, labor, line rates, planned maintenance, holidays, capital installation & working capital


Demand, Supply and Material Planning

  • Develops best practice SOPs for effective management of inventories, planning, master data management, and ongoing Supply Planning team development
  • Manages production planning manager who is accountable for the finite schedule (daily and weekly finished goods), while optimizing capacity, inventory and financial objectives in site and at all 3PLs
  • Act as backup to Production and material planners
  • Develops and reviews capacities for short thru long-range demand versus plant capability. Designing and implementing both short and long term production strategies to improve service levels, capacity utilization while maintaining target inventory levels and minimal distress inventory
  • Creates, implements and monitors supply chain KPIs to drive business improvements
  • Identifies and continuously improves planning tools and process
  • Reviews finished goods for customer order shortages and manages communication to necessary departments
  • Facilitates new product rollouts and coordinates product discontinuations with Procurement, Sales, NPD and Production
  • Works closely with the Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Customer Service and Procurement to ensure timeliness of information and data accuracy to avoid supply chain disruptions.
  • Responsible for the timely aggregation and dissemination of reports and communications.
  • Proactively manages and develops the performance of direct reports and team members through performance management, calibration, resource review and planning, capability, disciplinary, training and development.
  • Works closely with IT to bring online new tools and supports processes to drive efficiency into the supply planning process.
  • The ability to migrate to new MPR structure, AS400
  • Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities: Complies with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations. Understands applicable SQF requirements.

Logistics and Inventory Management

  • Create long term warehouse strategy/capacity plan and drive business to appropriate action
  • Oversee inventory control processes; perform inventory adjustments and reconcile physical to system. Lead cycle counting program; perform audits; report out on accuracy and trends.
  • Provide leadership in developing and executing ongoing supplier productivity programs
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools, if necessary, to achieve inventory on hand, order fulfillment, and overall business objectives
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy, inventory cycle count process, and variance. Thresholds are established and will be reviewed in personnel performance KPIs as required.
  • Conducts quarterly or as required reviews of existing policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and service delivery.
  • Ensures compliance to guidelines for requisitions, purchase orders, capital purchases and inventories.
  • Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store equipment and company vehicles.
  • In partnership with the planning and purchasing team, analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • Provide leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, communication, and review of departmental metrics for appropriate action.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures. Discusses areas needing improvements.
  • Monitor forecasts to identify or validate changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities and adjust activities as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Procurement, NPD, QA, Production, and Finance to collectively determine process improvements, analyze trends and report on Supply Chain metrics
  • Analyze information about supplier performance and procurement program success
  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, and system flows.
  • Design and implement appropriate storage strategies for new warehouse locations.
  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
  • Involvement in employee development.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive cross departmental S&OP and Value Stream Mapping
  • Create SOPs, Process, and Procedures as required to drive standardization
  • Mentor, train & direct team to embrace and implement CI techniques in their work streams
  • Facilitate EDI process between DCC & 3PLs



Requirements

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications Education & Work Experience:

B.S or B.A degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Economics

5 years of experience within in Supply Chain Planning with integrated ERP system skills

Experience in Food CPG industry is preferred, with knowledge of applicable SQF requirements

Experience implementing and using planning tools

APICS CPIM or CSCP certification desirable

GS1 knowledge desirable


Pay Disclosure

  • $104,000 - $155,000 + Full Benefits + Bonus
  • Pay is determined by candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and market data.
