Hiring a Clinical Manager for our Dearborn, MI clinic!

The Clinical Manager position oversees an identified territory of focused and comprehensive ABA programs for varying ages and populations. The Clinical Manager is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) responsible for the clinical oversight and support of a team of BCBAs or Clinical Supervisors in an identified region to ensure the quality of services and best practice standards. A strong attention to promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration by promoting staff reinforcement systems is required.

Patterns is a center-based, in-home, and school provider of behavioral services to families with children diagnosed with ASD and other developmental disabilities. COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR OUR TEAM

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we implemented additional safety precautions for in-home and center-based services; such as the mandatory use of face masks, daily health screenings, frequent hand washing, disinfection of work surfaces, and more. We provide all the necessary resources and materials for our team members to lead safe therapy sessions.

YOUR VALUED ROLE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Leadership

  • Manage a 75% caseload of active clients according to best practice supervision standards
    • Provide billable hours as determined by current caseload (15-18 hours per week)
  • The Clinical Manager may be responsible for the supervision of 4-5 full-time Clinical Supervisors and/or Clinical Associates
  • Work collaboratively with the scheduling team to ensure staff to client pairings are clinically appropriate and clients hours are maximized by assigned behavior technicians
  • Address stakeholder concerns/complaints in conjunction with clinical leadership
  • Under close supervision by the senior clinical leadership team, provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership necessary to fully implement and manage the PATTERNS treatment model
    • Support new BCBAs
    • Support Clinical Associates
  • Oversee the timely and accurate submission of billing for all authorized services
  • Ensure a high standard of authorization utilization (80% minimum) for all clients, for 1:1 approved treatment codes
    • Supervision and parent consultation hours standard is 90% for authorization utilization with a minimum billable monthly contact with all parents/caregivers
  • Ensure that all client records are secure, current and complete as required by HIPAA regulations and company policy
  • Ensure that all clinical software tools (CentralReach) etc. are being utilized to full capacity
  • If providing center-based services, with the support and collaboration of senior clinical leadership, develop and implement the clinical vision of the center, including measurable outcomes and goals
    • Life skills, etc.

Management and Mentorship

  • Create a work climate that emphasizes collaborative team performance and demonstrates the PATTERNS values
  • Implement all staffing requirements for recruitment, selection and placement of personnel
    • May collaborate with the senior clinical leadership team to assign and re-assign cases to Clinical Associates and/or Clinical Supervisors
  • Evaluate the performance and competency of staff with regular written and verbal feedback
    • Includes completion of performance feedback tools and scorecards
  • Meet with clinicians on a weekly basis to review client progress and weekly performance metrics
  • Monitor and positively impact employee morale via KUDOS
  • Work closely with Human Resources to implement positive discipline, up to and including termination of assigned employees
  • Develop, coordinate and lead regular staff meetings and trainings

Coordination and Communication

  • Represent PATTERNS at the community level by attending networking and educational opportunities and promoting the positive reputation of the program
    • Attendance at local State ABA Chapter Associations
      • Events may occur during non-traditional work hours
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with PATTERNS staff and supervisors
  • Ensuring that all clinicians maintain documentation of all client and employee communication, and are in regular communication and work with families or stakeholders towards fulfilling all contracted service lines

Reporting and Documentation

  • Ensure the timely submission of treatment plans and progress reports for all clinical cases
  • Complete monthly performance scorecards for performance management of staff
  • Document and report all metrics on each clinicians and supervisors performance with respect to client outcomes and authorization utilization

Professional Development

  • Maintain compliance with required training and education required for the position
  • Ensure that all clinicians are credentialed and rostered with the appropriate funding sources
  • Successfully acquire and maintain all certification and/or licensure (if applicable) per position requirements
  • Participate in appropriate team and/or administrative meetings, assigned committees, and other continuing education/training
  • Attendance at Company clinical meetings which may occur weekly, bi-weekly or monthly
    • May be in person or via video conference
  • May provide graduate group supervision to eligible employees pursuing board certification
    • Adherence to BACB supervision guidelines
    • Ensure the accurate and timely completion and documentation of all supervision documents
    • Mentor and monitor all graduate client work completed under the supervision of a BCBA

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age, required
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the BACB.
  • Experience

    • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a BCBA (or similar clinical management experience in a related field), preferably managing in a variety of environments and populations
    • Experience in providing clinical services based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
    • Knowledge and application of healthcare systems (Medicaid, Managed Care)
      • Understanding of DSM-V diagnostic criteria
      • Experience developing comprehensive treatment plans
    • Experience with oversight of all administrative and operational tasks (scheduling, billing, staffing) which is required to provide services to clients and families
    • Strong, independent clinical decision-making skills
      • Focus on big picture functional, client-centered clinical program development
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with families of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
    • Attention to detail, ability to multitask in highly stressful situations
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all team members
    • Desire to advocate on behalf of families to access services, including insurance appeals
