Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of previous experience working with top tier Beauty brands at a public relations agency. What You'll Do in Your Day-to-Day: General Must have a strong understanding of the editorial calendar, current events, pop culture, seasonal and celebrity trends to effectively and proactively contribute to story angle development that is strategic and timely, maximizing product placement and brand feature placements across national, regional, online, trade and broadcast outlets Ability to manage and mentor AAE on all responsibilities Ability to work well in a team environment but also work independently, meeting goals and deadlines with minimal supervision Strong knowledge of media practices, beauty editors and overall beauty industry Must exhibit strong writing, communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, agency principals and colleagues Must be highly organized, detail oriented and have ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline oriented and high-energy environment Intermediate to expert-level knowledge in beauty product knowledge a plus Strategy/Media Relations Manage core day-to-day media relations alongside the AAE Assist in the creation of overarching communications strategy Assist in securing print, online and broadcast placements for client as directed by senior team members Develop and maintain relationships with editors Participate in strategic brainstorming sessions with the internal client team Oversee beauty awards tracking grid and submissions alongside the AAE Events Plan and actualize PR events alongside the SAE (Fashion Week, Product Launches, Editor Meetings, etc.) Manage production agency, ensuring all activity falls within event budget Manage event logistics, including but not limited to: Generating media outreach list + executing invites Managing fulfillment of event collateral (i.e. signage, gift bags, etc.) Creating briefing materials to deliver to the client On-site client support day-of, as well as entertainment of guests (press, MUA, influencer) Develop event recap to deliver to client, ensuring all PR goals were met Mailings/Products Assist in organization of all mailings Assist with Press outreach in building and updating media lists Strategize ways to make new mailings impactful, while remaining sustainable Reporting Manage monthly press tracker alongside the AAE Manage AAE in delivering weekly and monthly press reports Keen eye and pulse on competitor activity, sharing intel in real-time with clients Admin Support Assist in management of OOP and event budgets Closely oversee AAE on the below: Placing product orders and managing the beauty closet Execution of opportunistic giftings Ordering supplies such as bags, tissue paper, folders, etc. RequirementsDesired Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree required; Ideally in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field Previous experience, minimum of three years, within an agency or in-house Beauty department Previous experience managing and mentoring junior staff A true interest in beauty and the beauty industry, especially color cosmetics Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships Problem solving and solution oriented with a proactive attitude Expert level knowledge of Muck Rack, Lefty, FashionGPS, Cision, and Traackr Proficient computer skills i.e., Power Point, Excel and Word (to intermediate level) Location: This role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office on a hybrid basis. This role is required on site 2-5 days per week. Salary: The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per annum.
