Apogee Travel is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to join our start-up team in building an innovative travel technology company. This position requires a proven track record of successful campaigns and strong leadership skills. In this role, you will architect and execute strategies to launch Apogee's brand and establish our entrance into the hospitality technology market.

We are looking for a true brand champion who will buy into our mission to revolutionize hotel booking in a way that benefits hotels, charities, and travelers alike. Your leadership will oversee the marketing team that you build and create compelling and differentiated branding, content, and campaigns that drive awareness, interest, and adoption. Your leadership style should be inspiring to the team you lead as well as Apogee executives.

The ideal candidate is flexible and adaptive, an out-of-the-box thinker with sharp analytical problem solving skills. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall marketing strategies and efforts that will drive company growth and brand awareness. This is a highly visible role within the company and offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on the business. We are looking for an enthusiastic Vice President (VP) of Marketing who will not only execute in the trenches, but also provide strategic leadership, from a market and product perspective, to our management team.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruit and build a high-performing marketing team aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Apogee
  • Develop, plan, and execute the overall marketing strategy to drive growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement
  • Oversee and manage the marketing budget, measuring the ROI of marketing activities
  • Deliver monthly management reports on marketing performance
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for tactical marketing initiatives
  • Execute Apogee's brand strategy and collaborate with leadership to enhance our brand and customer experience
  • Oversee Apogee's website, SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, and other digital activities
  • Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email, social media, content marketing, paid media, and more
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and product teams to ensure alignment on marketing and business goals
  • Analyze marketing data to inform decision-making and optimize campaigns for continuous improvement

Team Leadership

Build and manage a world-class marketing team.

  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations, recommending promotions and salary adjustments as needed
  • Handle discipline and termination of team members following company policy
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide leadership support to other departments
  • Lead with integrity and a relentless pursuit of excellence

Marketing and Promotions

Coordinate marketing and promotional activities in collaboration with the revenue team to meet customer needs.

  • Prepare weekly, and monthly reports for the management team.
  • Guide, train, and mentor the marketing team to recognize and capitalize on marketing opportunities.

Requirements

  • Previous working experience in marketing and brand management for at least 7 years
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, sales, and revenue management is a plus+
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities
  • Proficiency in marketing tools, analytics, and strategies
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing market trends and customer preferences
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on Apogee's success
