ob Summary:

The Vice President of National Accounts is responsible for increasing Foodservice chain account business opportunities and generating new profitable sales revenue growth through the effective leadership, coaching and development of the Foodservice National Account Sales Team. Implements the chain account sales strategy and drives the tactical execution plans to achieve performance goals as established by the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for National Accounts Key Performance Indicators (KPI), targets and goals, and overall growth.
  • Leads a cross-functional customer team. Collaborate and influence across internal business functions to exploit opportunities and bring desired product solutions to market.
  • Develops and maintains a robust new chain account opportunity pipeline in the Salesforce CRM System. Coaches team to strategically prospect and determine the best approaches for driving profitable growth with existing, newly acquired, and potential key accounts
  • Manage and develop customer relationships with key chain account decision-makers; establish and maintain high-level, executive contact with all key accounts, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of strategic relationships.
  • Work with Business Unit Leaders to develop National Accounts programs, sales plans, and promotion calendar based on category, customer, and consumer insights
  • Effective management and use of T&E and marketing budgets
  • Develop, deploy, and track the execution of national programs
  • Negotiates commercial agreements including volume commitments, service levels, margins, and funding for assigned National Accounts, and monitor compliance
  • Identify innovation and new opportunities for assigned National Accounts

Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer issue resolution such as inventory concerns, price discrepancies, or sales representative concerns; work with internal stakeholders and cross-functional team members to resolve issues
  • Create, and present sales analysis presentations to sell products and services to customers
  • Attend key National Accounts conferences, meetings, and national account business reviews
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train new national account team members; execute timely terminations, as needed
  • Coach and counsel employees for success; discipline individuals according to company policy; plan and monitor employee goals; and effectively appraise performance
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Key Attributes

  • Finance Acumen: Strong understanding of the P&L, communicating and reporting financial data to drive business decision-making.
  • Has existing network of relationships with multi-unit operators in commercial restaurants, non-commercial contract management operators, and/or the convenience store channel.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus ten years of experience in Foodservice; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience and success in foodservice chain account sales and management
  • Five years of demonstrated success in sales team leadership
  • Demonstrated understanding of overall foodservice channel dynamics and deep understanding of chain restaurant, convenience store and non-commercial operator dynamics
