The Position

The Operations Trainer will work closely with the Training and Development Manager and will be responsible for creating and administering training to all areas in Operations including but not limited to: Manufacturing, Wax, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics employees. This position assures that standardized work is in place and all employees are following standards. The Operations Trainer will be the primary driver of the Skill Block training program.

The Location

We are located at 8860 Smith's Mill Rd., Suite 100, New Albany, OH. This is an onsite position.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn and understand a wide variety of job duties to a high level of detail.
  • Document work to a high level of detail for the purpose of training.
  • Develop Skill Block training material for roles throughout the plant (e.g., playbooks, job aids, videos)
  • Develop and maintain Skill Block training matrix for Operations.
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for Skill Block certifiers.
  • Monitor and administer training, motivating employees to achieve maximum quality and productivity.
  • Effectively train others in a production or classroom environment.
  • Provide coaching/feedback to employees and evaluate abilities.
  • Validate training materials by working with subject matter experts.
  • Observe and audit work to make necessary changes to documentation or processes.
  • Conduct training audits to identify training gaps, conduct on the job training to correct deficiencies and retest.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to the quality standards.
  • Work with Operations training team to make recommendations on how to improve operations to optimize production while positively contributing to safety, quality, cost, and lead time.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Training and Development Manager.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Degree from accredited university preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years related assembly/production experience and/or creating and administering training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn and utilize array of computer programs (e.g., Clip Champ, Microsoft Office).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Seasoned presenter with public speaking skills.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively coach others.
