GPDs Power Team has continued to grow organically due to our stellar reputation in the industry and is excited to add a Transmission Project Managerto oureither our Akron or Columbus, OH offices or our Pittsburgh, PA office. GPD Group works directly with the communities we serve for power allocation and energy innovation.This person would share a passion for being a technical expert in transmission line design and using that expertise to guide other engineers along in their career with mentoring and opportunity creation.Our Power Group is all about looking ahead into the future and ensuring that our high-quality designs and innovative way of approaching work fuels safe communities in the Ohio and Pennsylvania regions we serve.

Role Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in civil or electrical engineering.Masters degree in engineering a plus.
• Equivalent experience of 15+ years in electric utility without a Bachelors degree.
• 10+ years of experience in transmission line design in Ohio or Pennsylvania.
• 3+ years of experience managing transmission line projects.
• Extensive experience with high voltage transmission line engineering (12kV to 345 kV).
• Professional registration in the State of Ohio or Pennsylvania.
• High level of proficiency in the PLS-CADD with knowledge of PLS Tower a big plus.
• Proficient comprehension of safety codes, utility standards and regulations (NESC, ASCE IEEE).
• Excels using anything in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
• Experience mentoring and empowering engineers newer in their career.
• Enjoys taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
• Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communications while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
• Enjoys developing and nurturing strong client and sub consultant relationships.
• Experience developing and overseeing project scope, schedule, and fees for new projects and additional scope/services requested by clients that yield successful projects for clients and the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management in our Power group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline in the development of high voltage infrastructure projects:this includes complete A & E design, survey, environmental assessment, field services, utilities and geotechnical services.
• Technical oversight:managing the quality control process, analyzing, and correlating scientific and engineering data to recognize discrepancies in results and identifying the possible solutions and risk associated with them.
• Client Engagement and Management offers a chance for the Project Manager to develop and build programs and client relationships to grow this team:this includes understanding clients needs and how they translate into specific scope and reporting systems.This person will not only meet revenue goals but actively seek out opportunities to exceed expectations.
• Mentoring and developing the Transmission team to further our success in the industry:this includes not only civil engineering and technical training but empowering those teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translating that to continued career success.
• Administrative oversight:using Key Performance indicators, this includes developing, communicating, and tracking workflow tasks, scheduling, championing GPDs quality assurance and client standards, and ensuring that project documents are consistent with project plans and within scope and budget.
