Full Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The Community Health Improvement Project Manager will manage activities within the SHIP, a five-year National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded structural intervention project aimed at developing and evaluating a community aligned safety-net to address the benefits cliff for low-wage workers in Muskegon County to empower improved health and economic mobility. Primary responsibilities will include project administration, partner outreach and engagement, and research partner collaboration. The Project Manager will work closely with the Director of Community Based Services (Primary Investigator), the Participatory Research and Clinical Co-Investigators, data platform developers, and two research teams, in addition to community partners.

Principal Responsibilities:

Project administration:

- Supporting strategic program planning and management.
- Working with project teams to promote community-engaged intervention design.
- Project reporting, both programmatic and financial.
- Supporting the design and management evaluation systems.
- Convening partner and advisory board meetings.
- Facilitating bidirectional communication between and among team members and partners.
- Coordinating with the Program Manager and Finance Manager to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Partner outreach and engagement:

- Engaging with community partners, inclusive of agencies, employers, community groups, grassroots organizations, and residents to promote partnerships and excellence in research, intervention design and implementation, and health outcomes.

- Assisting in the development and implementation of a community-engaged and designed structural intervention to empower economic mobility and reduce health inequities.

Research collaboration

- Supporting participatory research activities, inclusive of coordination and outreach, alignment with priorities and reporting metrics, and ensuring research activities empower and build capacity within community.

- Aligning research activities within the workplan.

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelors degree, preferably with additional training or certifications in project management.
- Grants management, including budget management, reporting requirements, and adherence to award-specific guidelines
- Expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring, with a focus on timelines and deliverables
- Effective communicator, adept at simplifying complexity and fostering teamwork

Preferred Education and Experience

- Experience managing projects involving diverse teams and disciplines.
- Ability to engage and manage relationships with community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in identifying and managing risks associated with complex projects.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, in-person position. Days and hours of work are Mondays through Friday of each week, from 8am - 5pm in our Muskegon, Michigan office, with a flexible lunch hour.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
