Legal Counsel (Remote/Hybrid)

Are you a commercially minded lawyer keen to progress your career in a dynamic, innovative, global organisation with a structured in-house legal team?

This role will give the Legal Counsel the opportunity to challenge themselves and stretch their experience in a broad legal counsel role where they lead on commercial negotiations and assist the sales team with key client negotiations for the business.

The role would suit a junior lawyer 1 to 3 years PQE either from a private practice background or a previous in-house role with a commercial outlook, flexible approach and a real passion and interest to learn and develop your career.

This role can be based on a fully remote basis or as a hybrid model (our client has a large network of offices throughout Scotland the North of England).

Scope to lead on key business negotiations and the opportunity to work across a successful global business drafting complex commercial contracts - Broad and varied role - Great company culture with a supportive and friendly team and a flexible approach to working from home The Role Working closely with the UK Head of Legal and Data Protection the legal counsel will be required to provide commercially sound legal advice across the business. This will involve advising around both contentious and non-contentious matters to include; - leading on negotiations for a range of commercial contracts (supply, distribution, tech, NDAs, MASs) - supporting senior lawyers on more complex negotiations, to assist with the development of a contract strategy - working with the sales team on client bids and contract reviews - working with the business on to effectively resolve and manage any disputes

The Person

Qualified Solicitor UK/Ireland

- Ideally you will be 1 to 3 years PQE but exceptional candidates with PQE either side will be considered

- Previous experience of reviewing and drafting commercial contracts either from in-house or a private practice role - Some previous disputes experience (this can be from a seat in your traineeship)

- A can do attitude with a real desire to learn and progress your career

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade others
