Job Description
Are you a Senior Java Developer/Architect looking to be part of an agile team that values design, reusability, testability, stability, reliability, and application performance? We have a challenging opportunity for you to lead product development and provide technical guidance. You'll collaborate with DevOps, QA, and other technical leads to ensure your expertise contributes to enhancing our offerings.
Responsibilities
Lead product development and provide technical guidance.
Define development best practices, coding standards, and technology appropriateness.
Offer architectural blueprints to guide and assist development teams.
Monitor development progress to maintain alignment with the original design.
Research, design, and develop hardware and software interfaces, applying engineering and design principles.
Translate complex business issues into effective technical solutions.
Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team to create cutting-edge client connectivity platform software.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to build custom systems for clients.
Utilize your extensive knowledge to solve problems and integrate application development with technology goals.
Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions and communicate with external parties as necessary.
Requirements
8-12 years of experience in full-stack Java 1.8+ development, installation, and maintenance.
Strong understanding of architectural principles and associated areas.
Experience in AWS web application development.
Proficiency in Event Driven Architecture, Domain Driven Design, and Distributed Systems.
Cloud solution architecture design, legacy app migration, and troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of messaging technologies, caching solutions, and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
Familiarity with UI/UX technologies such as Angular and ReactJS.
Strong communication, analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to create technical documentation.
Education
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Certifications
Active AWS Certifications (considered a Plus!)

Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong technical writing skills.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively.
Important Information
U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S. with at least three years of residence in the last five years is required.
Must be able to obtain a badge for U.S. Federal government clients and pass a background investigation for government Public Trust.
Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
Partial remote work (2 days a week) with residency in Maryland or Northern Virginia required.
Full COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for employment.
