Job Description

Role: Project Manager, Business Capability
Location: Libertyville, IL, 60048
Duration: 12 Months

Must Have List:
  • Cross-functional Project Management
  • MS Project
  • MS SharePoint and Content Management tools
  • LIMS and GMP knowledge/experience
  • Manufacturing Automation Systems

Preferred:
  • Infrastructure Technology is highly preferred.

Project/Domain Overview:
  • Clients Libertyville site will be producing viral vector. The site is acquired from another biopharma. Client would be implementing several Lab and manufacturing automation software applications including but not limited to Goodsync (GoodSync is a backup and file synchronization software), Labware LIMS and ELN, Empower, OSI Pi, Delta V.
  • The solutions will be implemented in a combination of agile and waterfall to support various business processes. The goal is to implement these best of breed SaaS/ COTs software applications to automate lab and manufacturing operations.

Outline of key responsibilities & deliverables:
  • Drive initiation and planning for all the site IT roadmap projects, collaborate with business owners, IT owners, enterprise partners, implementation partners and orchestrate development, testing and deployment of these solutions. Define detailed project plans, develop project governance structure, establish project delivery teams, orchestrate efforts across various cross-functional teams under the direction and guidance of site IT leader and IT PMO leader.
  • Responsible for project plan tracking, SOW management, status reporting, RAID log management, use of various client tools for project management, financial management and status reporting. Should be able to manage multiple parallel IT projects that are directly not interlinked but must be implemented in tandem.

Job Description:
  • Lead project team(s) to execute assigned project(s) supporting the digital capability (DC) objectives of their Business Unit group/function, delivering value faster, in an incremental fashion.
  • Oversee planning and execution of small to medium sized project(s) in their Business Units DC group/functional portfolio to deliver on intended outcomes while collaborating on evolving ideas and discovery of new requirements to maximize return on investments.
  • Identify dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to appropriate levels of management and stakeholders across assigned project(s).
  • Ensure project deliverables, schedules, and financials adhere to established norms and are managed in alignment with departmental best practices across their assigned project(s).
  • Periodically evaluate performance and develop action plans to ensure achievement of performance goals.
  • Monitor and control schedule and financial health of their assigned project(s) and provide actionable insights to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively remove obstacles to drive assigned projects momentum and progress. Engage and energize the project team(s).
  • Plan and engage necessary resources across the enterprise to ensure successful completion of assigned project(s).
  • Manage one to two vendors providing services to the project(s) ensuring they meet their execution milestones and remain within their funding estimates.
  • Prepares all project status reports and documentation to keep project sponsors informed of project progress and potential risks/roadblocks so they can take appropriate action.
  • Actively engage stakeholders of problem project(s) to assist with identifying corrective actions.
  • Co-lead setup of project management and governance structures in collaboration with IT Business Partner(s) and Digital Capability Managers (DCMs).
  • Advise and consistently apply Project Management best practices (including Agile, SDLC and PMF) and tools. Continuously improve our adoption and maturity of best practices across IT.
  • Provide support to IT BPs and DCMs in management of project financials, vendor management and procurement.
  • Collaborate with ITBPs, DCMs & Portfolio Managers on business case development for DC investments, translating PM experience & insights into improved estimates and outcomes.

Experience and Skills:
  • Must have 5+years experience with manufacturing automation and laboratory information systems in biopharma.
  • Must have GxP compliance, software validation experience.
  • 5 to 7years of end-to-end project management of IT software development, COTS, SaaS application implementation
  • Expert in using Microsoft project professional, planned vs. actual tracking, reporting out of MPP.
  • Use of project portfolio management tools such as ServiceNow, Clarity PPM with financial tracking is preferred.
  • Experienced in leadership presentations, communications and independently facilitating status meetings, governance reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability in collaborative leadership, leading without authority, team player, hands-on PM.
  • Excellent presentation skills, written communication skills, use of Microsoft office timeline, teams collaboration, SharePoint tools
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure environment (application server environment, compute, and storage environment) is preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task, flexible sometime may have to play business analyst role.
