Job Purpose

Leads projects and initiatives in line with site and business needs, tracking all stages to deliver on production, quality, health/safety/environmental, and cost targets. Projects and initiatives include capital, strategic, expense; and site, business, or company-wide engineering, HSE, or other unique requisites with an emphasis on facility and maintenance projects to improve reliability and maintain infrastructure assets. Responsible for day-to-day management of critical safety and security systems including coordination of offsite and third-party support contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains buildings and grounds overseeing the upkeep of utility equipment and scheduling repair and renovation projects
  • Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications
  • Coordinates and oversees facility safety inspections
  • Leads project planning, refining the project charter, creating work scope and request for quote/bid documentation, obtaining and tabulating cost estimates, developing engineering and execution/construction timelines, and obtaining buy-in from stakeholders on project/initiative progression
  • Participates in project initiation to develop a needs or business case and obtain a high-level overview of project objectives from the project originator
  • Co-leads development of maintenance plans/equipment maintenance strategies, spare parts decisions, training, procedure creation, and ensures project is not closed until documentation is complete
  • Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Cooperates and communicates daily with project members and stakeholders to interpret their needs and requirements, and provides assistance and technical support
  • Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnels performance) and reports regularly on project status
  • Tracks and controls project budgets and timelines to ensure project completion within the approved limits
  • Audits projects after completion to measure project results against original project goals
  • Reviews engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Stays informed about, amongst others, relevant technology, company news and current SHE standards, and takes action if necessary. Identifies what the pertinent information is to use
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management
  • Contributes to site (process) improvements and contributes to CI / ALPS projects
  • Familiar and complies with all the applicable corporate as well as site and laboratory policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct, HSE and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (chemical, electrical, or mechanical) required OR 5-7 years project management experience
  • 5+ years engineering experience required, in a coatings or chemical environment preferred
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills

Rewards & Benefits

The salary range for these skills is: $90,000 to $100,000.This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
