We are looking for Quality Improvement Nurse Manager to join our clinics. Under the direction of the Compliance Officer, the Quality Improvement Nurse Manager will provide clinical oversight for all aspects of clinical back-office services. Has primary responsibility for direction and leadership to ensure quality and continuity of services. Ensures clinical staff are competent. Acts as liaison to local public health authorities for public health programs and oversees organizational compliance and communication related to those programs. The Nurse Manager will work closely with Compliance Officer, Quality Manager, and Risk Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Nursing


  • Performs and/or facilitates performance of initial and annual competencies for MAs, Dental Assistants (DAs), and nurses.
  • Evaluates all clinical care services provided by nurses and medical assistants (MAs).
  • Participates and/or facilitates performance of initial and annual waived test training.
  • Assists the Director of Operations in designing, implementing, and maintaining an organizational structure and staffing for positions/programs under QI development.
  • Assists with training, conflict resolution, counseling, and evaluation of medical support staff when issues concern clinical competency.
  • Participates in biweekly New Employee Orientation.
  • Coordinates clinical educational and in-service activities for the medical and, when needed, dental systems of the organization.
  • Assist Dental Managers with clinical education and in-services as needed.
  • Develops or assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures for clinical operations and patient care.
  • Maintains competent and motivated clinical staff by aiding in selection, training, evaluation, and termination, as necessary.
  • Oversees Medical Assistant training, to include any certification or registration programs.
  • Assists with oversight of Dental Assistant training.
  • Assists Managers with Action plans related to clinical performance.
  • Oversees Occupational Health program, aiding Quality Coordinator with duties.
  • Assists with outbreak or pandemic response, to include tasks such as the Covid Hotline coverage.
  • Ensures all Vaccine for Children program requirements are followed.
  • Renew CLIA waived test licenses as needed.
  • Act as liaison to LabCorp for issues requiring staff training.


Infection Control


  • Develops and coordinates the infection prevention and control program throughout the facility. Implements the program by formulating, establishing, and evaluating policies and procedures relating to patient care infection control measures throughout the facility.
  • Ensure staff are trained on infection control per their role throughout the agency.
  • Ensure staff are trained and follow all regulations for the Biohazardous Waste yearly inspections.
  • Performs an annual assessment and develops action plans from the prior year activities.
  • Performs annual TB Risk Assessment and makes recommendation for need to implement annual TB screening if needed.
  • Assists with the development of action plans in case of a community or agency outbreak to minimize the potentially devastating impact.
  • Collaborates with government agencies such as the CDC to ensure that infection control practices are implemented and enforced.
  • Ensure Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Plan is followed and, if not, educate staff on plan and mitigate issue.
  • Ensure staff are trained and follow the Pertussis exposure plan.
  • Audit and oversee proper sterilization procedures in medical and dental clinics.
  • Work with the QI Manager to implement handwashing audit yearly, at minimum.
  • Work with Committee when needed to mitigate outbreaks and pandemics.


QI Support


  • Participate in the QI, Risk Management, and Compliance Committees.
  • Participate in chart review, audit, and research related to quality-of-care concerns.
  • Help plan, organize, and deliver in-service presentations promoting understanding and compliance of the QI program activities.
  • Investigate, track, and follow up on Incident Reports as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff education on requirements for accreditation and survey preparation and process.

Registered Nurse or LPN with 8 years Community Health or Ambulatory Care experience plus 5 years nursing supervision experience or relevant combination of education and experience.
