IGS is currently recruiting for a remote Technical Writer/ Video Production Editor to support our work with the Indian Health Service (IHS).

Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access IGS systems and therein use approved IGS provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • Review, edit, and process training video recordings from Adobe Connect and WebEx typically in MP4 format to meet customer security, privacy, and accessibility requirements.
  • Convert and upload recordings to YouTube videos.
  • Update YouTube videos to add and manually edit closed captioning and transcriptions to accurately document the training presentations verbal and visual cues for all training recordings.
  • Maintain libraries and archived repositories of training materials, recordings, and backups on various locations such as MS SharePoint, Azure DevOps, websites, network share drives, and other applicable repositories.
  • Support the maintenance of training materials that may include reviewing, editing, updating, and validating training materials for relevancy, accuracy, and accessibility. Training materials could include training plans, agendas, catalogs, course outlines, background materials, training aids, course manuals, handouts, certificates, course evaluation surveys, and other supporting documentation.
  • Provide periodic and ad-hoc status reports.
  • Provide management, coordination, and monitoring of training tasks and participate in agency-wide planning.
  • Includes recordings from Adobe Connect and Webex
  • Create closed captioning for backlogged and upcoming training recordings, including 300+ backlogged recordings.
  • Develop, update, and validate training materials for relevancy, accuracy and 508 compliances, including but not limited to: training plan, agenda, catalog, course outline, background materials, training aids, course manuals, handouts, certificates, and course evaluation surveys.
  • Triage and troubleshoot training related incidents and requests through ServiceNow (SN), escalate, as necessary.
  • Support cross-functional activities for software quality assurance, release management, incident management, and training delivery as needed, such as:
  • Maintaining software quality assurance and release management related email communication and artifacts, and its tracking and storage into applicable tools
  • Review, triage and troubleshoot assigned RPMS application incidents by applying technical expertise, searching knowledge base, reviewing software documentation, and recreating errors in the test environment.
  • Prioritize urgent/critical tickets using pre-established guidelines to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Track and maintain RPMS application common issues in the Azure DevOp
  • Maintain, create, and update knowledge base records for reporting, retrieval, and resolution of common issues and triaging best practice (in Azure DevOp and SharePoint)
  • Provide training by conducting online or onsite classroom courses, workshops, and seminars.
  • Participate in developing and revising training courses and preparing appropriate training catalogs and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in English, Education, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with training, recording, editing, and closed captioning
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with training related tools such as Webex, Adobe Connect, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or other training and learning management systems.
  • High proficiency with MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated experience in large scale stakeholder management and coordination.
  • Previous experience in a government setting (VA, IHS, DoD, or Military branch)
  • Knowledge and experience working in Healthcare IT industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to understand end users requirements and problem-solving attitude.
  • High standards, result oriented, and commitment to delivering high quality deliverables on time.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an IHS Public Trust
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement.
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires ability to obtain a Public Trust Tier 5 therefore, all candidates who are selected for employment with IGS, will undergo a background check to include a credit check via a third party.

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:

  • Technical Writers who are interested in learning new skills such as video editing are encouraged to apply!
  • Experience with EHRs, IHS RPMS, VA VistA, or DOD CHCS
  • Experience developing training material for software applications.
  • Experience working remotely as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction.
  • Experience with software management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOp, or similar
  • Ability to thoroughly investigate technical issues both analytically and hands-on troubleshooting in a production and test environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer networking components

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
