Athena is looking for a Strategic Marketing and Special Events Manager with a passion for problem-solving, managing change, and improving efficiency. Requirements

What youll be responsible for:

  • Formulating, organizing, and monitoring interconnected projects with a keen focus on strategic planning and seamless execution
  • Working closely with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and preferences, incorporating feedback into their marketing and event strategies
  • Developing and executing comprehensive marketing and event strategies aligned with client goals
  • Overseeing internal and external stakeholders across a variety of disciplines to ensure successful marketing and event outcomes
  • Creating compelling and engaging content for campaigns, including digital content, print materials, branding materials, scripts, presentations, and multimedia materials
  • Ensuring marketing and event initiatives align with the organization's brand and messaging, reinforcing a positive brand image
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy for events and marketing initiatives
  • Overseeing social media campaigns to promote initiative, engage with audience, and create a buzz before, during, and after
  • Developing and implementing visually stunning event designs, including stage setups, signage, and thematic elements
  • Managing event technical needs, including collaborating with art and technical crews, ideation, brainstorming solutions to obstacles, and more
  • Administering department finances, budgets, vendor communication, vendor contracts, and budget reporting to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Conducting real-time review and editing of projects, as needed, to guarantee timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Maintaining a detailed and conducting regular team calls to ensure all stakeholders remain aligned and understand individual responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables
  • Participating in on-site event execution, potentially involving evening and weekend commitments and/or travel
  • High-level analysis of campaign metrics and compilation of reporting for clients

The skills and experience you should have:

  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in developing efficient strategies and tactics
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Ability to ensure programs deliver desirable outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Creative and analytical thinker
  • Capable of handling quantitative and technical duties
  • Proficient in budget management and financial reporting
  • Eye for design in implementing visual elements of an event
  • Strong multi-tasker able to oversee many different tasks while collaborating with a wide range of teams
  • Strong communicator with the ability to prioritize many different simultaneous tasks
  • Assertive and capable of directing others
  • Ability to implement projects with little to no supervision
  • Ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint user
  • Strong writing skills
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • 5-10 years of professional experience

Its a plus if you have:

  • Experience using time tracking and expense management software
  • Proficient knowledge of Airtable
  • Proficient knowledge of SplashThat and Cvent
