We are currently seeking a Full-Time Director of Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) who will supervise, administer, coordinate, and implement the instructional design, compliance, and financial management of the Texas Workforce Commission Grant. The Director will bring innovative practices to oversee the four Amarillo College adult education programs, (1) English as a Second Language for emergent bilinguals, (2) High School Equivalency (HSE) program, (3) Career Pathways program, and (4) the Data and Grant Compliance program. The Director will supervise four coordinators to ensure the efficacy and efficiency of programmatic and administrative functions. One overarching goal of the grant is to provide the integration of adult education into college and career through the Ability to Benefit (ATB) provisionadditionally, meeting grant performance and implementation of grant goals, deliverables, and audit reliability. * This Position is partially grant-funded.
Requirements EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's Degree in any subject area. Preferred: Masters Degree in any subject area. EXPERIENCE:Required: - Two (2) years in management or a leadership role.
Preferred: - Experience working with state or federal grants.

- Experience working with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Policy.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Plan and complete the Adult Education Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) federal grant application and serve as the primary contact with the Texas Workforce Commissions office.
- Monitor, implement, and evaluate grant performance, e.g., contracted measures, performance-based measures, annual enrollment, and grant expenditures.
- Supervise, coordinate and evaluate Amarillo Colleges adult education programs and services.
- Supervise and evaluate coordinators and provides program guidance and support to part-time ancillary staff.
- Learn and disseminate federal policy for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
- Develop curriculum integration solutions and related work/instructional aides to provide users with tools needed to utilize emerging curriculum integration strategies to enhance student learning.
- Complete all forms and reports required by State and/or Federal governments concerning adult education services and programs.
- Create and facilitate quarterly workforce partnership meetings.
- Develop and oversee community-based organization (CBO) partnerships.
- Prepare annual budgets for each program and make recommendations authorizing purchases by the adult education staff made with budget allocations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: - Ability to read grants and policies and disseminate the information.
- Knowledge of Adult Learners Theory.
- Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) policy.
- Ability to lead small teams.
- Ability to set forth a vision and have a team follow.
- Ability to develop team members.
- Ability to utilize team talents and individuals strengths to accomplish program goals
- Intermediate-level digital integrations and skills, i.e. use of cloud-based workspaces, project management tools, excel or google sheets intermediate to advanced formulas, development of presentations.
- Ability to analyze data.
- Ability to present in small and large groups.
Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules((link removed), Pay grade 14 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons). Physical Demands: While an employee is to successfully perform the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Working Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines), and may require work outside of the office with little to no supervision. Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
