About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a Coordinator of External Affairs Operations who will manage donor acknowledgments, plan and execute the operations of cross-functional stakeholder campaigns (annual holiday campaign, etc), plan and execute logistics for teamwide gatherings, and manage back of house data and operations compliance. As a member of the External Affairs team you will play a pivotal role in the quality of our external affairs operational systems and data tracking so that we can maintain quality and efficiency as we scale.

This role is on the External Affairs team and reports directly to the External Affairs Chief of Staff.

What Youll Do

External Stakeholder Management (60%)

  • Create the vision for and manage the execution of cross-functional external stakeholder campaign operations such as annual holiday mailings to supporters and impact report printing and release, as well as support large stakeholder events like the annual summit
  • Build best-in-class resources for Salesforce stakeholder data entry and ensure team compliance, as well as conduct regular data audits and clean up
  • Collaborate with the senior accountant and create Salesforce accounts and opportunities for all donations received
  • Manage workflow to ensure timely gift acknowledgment letters from regional Executive Directors and the CEO

Team Scheduling, Logistics, and Compliance (40%)

  • Provide scheduling support to External Affairs Stream Leaders (Policy, Comms, Development, Board, Employer Partnerships, New Sites, and Higher Ed Partnerships)
  • Plan and execute logistics and travel accommodations for all external affairs team retreats (1x) per year and smaller stream meetings throughout the year inclusive of catering, room rental, etc. as well as team celebrations like birthdays
  • Ensure timely processing of credit card expense reports for External Affairs Vice President and Managing Directors
  • Manage up to date calendar of team work anniversaries, birthdays, and other key team member life-events and ensure strong culture through managing the celebrations of such events in alignment with team vision
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience

  • Work Experience: 1-2 years of administrative experience preferred
  • Highly-developed attention to detail and customer-service orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and independently
  • Great proactivity and self-direction skills; including the ability to manage up

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel 4-8 times annually out of state for team events

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $44,500-$55,600 in Atlanta, $46,800-$58,500 in Chicago, $51,600-$64,400 in Newark or New York City. This is based on a 50-hour work week at an hourly rate. This is a full-time regular, non-exempt, and benefits eligible position where you will be working at 100% capacity. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. You will have an opportunity to discuss salary in more detail after you begin the application process.

Braven also provides competitive, comprehensive benefits, recognition, and career development. While Braven reserves the right to change benefits at any time, current benefits include:

  • Unlimited vacation time in addition to org-wide holidays and week-long shutdowns in July and the end of the calendar year (this is a minimum of 19 days per year)
  • Match of your 401K contribution up to 5% of your base annual salary, starting your first full month
  • Coverage of 85% of health insurance premium for employee and dependents
  • A one-month paid sabbatical after 4 years on staff

Location

We gather in the office two to three days a week. Therefore, we require teammates to live within commuting distance of one of our hubs: Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, or New York City. Each teammate can use at least two flex days per week of their choosing to work remotely. We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face and we believe in giving people flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.
