The Accounting Specialist performs routine accounting activities such as payroll postings, general ledger posting, accounts payable and receivable functions and preparation of various accounting reports and financial statements, and recording bank activity and bank reconciliations. This position can sit in one of our Central Ohio (Dublin or Newark) locations. Responsibilities - Apply accounting principles to enter and review transactions for appropriate treatment
- Reconcile accounts and research discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries
- Review account balances for accuracy and reasonableness
- Complete all steps in a period close with appropriate documentation
- Identify questions and communicate effectively to appropriate parties, including clients
- Answer questions from clients or team members on how to use Quickbooks desktop or Quickbooks online (QBO)
- Carrying out the internal bookkeeping function for clients such as entering or paying bills and invoicing from their software
- Managing back-office bookkeeping for clients
- Preparing financial statements and providing general accounting practices to clients
- Assisting clients with accounting, expense reporting, and daily updates
- Manage and prioritize workload to ensure that deadlines are met
Requirements - High School diploma or G.E.D.
- 0-4 years in relevant position or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Application of basic accounting practices within a business environment preferred
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Technology skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook), QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Fixed Asset Solutions, (link removed), Caseware Working Papers and GoFileRoom
