EFCU is looking for an Assistant Branch Manager for our Columbus Mound Street branch.

Pay Range: $24.00-28.00 / hour.

The Assistant Branch Manager directs and coordinates the activities of personnel in the Credit Union branch, aiding the Branch Manager in handling the day-to-day operations within a branch: teller transactions, loan applications and new and existing accounts.

This position is an in-office position. Candidates for this position must be located in the Columbus area and have reliable transportation to the Columbus branch location.

Branch Responsibilities:

  • Ensures delivery of exceptional member experience on the platform and teller line.
  • Supports and processes new memberships, account maintenance and loans.
  • Supports the Branch Manager in the day-to-day activities of all branch employees.
  • Identifies, investigates and responds to member concerns.
  • Ensures compliance and efficiency with all policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of financial industry rules, regulations and sound methods and practices.
  • Assists Branch Manager in maintaining a current working knowledge of and inspect security procedures, operational reports, control logs, audits, and certifications in compliance with all current regulatory requirements.
  • Provides recommendations, as needed to Branch Manager, to more efficiently meet the financial needs of the members visiting the branch.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy act, anti-money laundering, and elder financial abuse laws appropriate to the position.
  • Ensures that the physical maintenance and overall appearance of the branch facility is satisfactorily maintained at all times.
  • In the Branch Managers absence, is responsible for the operation of the branch, including, but not limited to, personnel, level of service, business results, and all matters that contribute to the operation of the branch.

Assistant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Assists Branch Manager in training and coaching employees on sound operational and compliance requirements across all areas of the branch.
  • Assists Branch manager in supervising the work of MSRs and other branch staff.
  • Assists in maintaining consistency in branch coverage.
  • Partners with the Branch Manager to ensure staff are well trained and have the support they need to perform their duties; regularly coaching staff to meet the expectations of their role and deliver the highest quality of member service possible.

Other:

  • Assists any area of branch duties when needed.
  • Performs Notary Public services as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant lending experience required
  • 3-5 years of previous experience working in a financial institution or bank required.
  • Previous cash handling experience required.
  • Knowledge of credit union loan products, services, policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for communication with members, teammates and various public relations.
  • Ability to work under goal driven situations.
  • Aptitude to operate computer related equipment, applications and accessories.
  • Skill to deal with the occasional unpleasant, angry or discourteous person.
  • Capacity to operate multiple computer web applications at the same time
  • Working knowledge of multiple communication channels (such as: Microsoft Teams, Online Inquires, Banno or other chat platforms, etc.)
