About You

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our Engineering Managers, ensuring that Mediavine's tech goals aren't just met, but exceeded. Together with the Director of Engineering, you'll craft strategies, streamline operations, and influence decisions that propel our engineering department forward.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and support to your engineering managers while assisting in leading, mentoring, and supporting your engineering teams
• Support technical guidance by collaborating with the Director of Engineering to align with the company's technological goals and objectives
• Oversee your Engineering Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering in setting strategic goals and informed decision-making
• Monitor and track the achievement of goals and objectives for your teams
• Work closely with legal to ensure regulatory compliance for your products
• Provide regular updates on project statuses to upper management and stakeholders
• Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with company goals
• Lead with curiosity and positivity, exemplifying servant leadership for your team
• Provide guidance and support to engineering team members, promoting skill development, knowledge sharing, and career progression
• Ownership of project deliverables through clear expectations, timelines and ensuring that engineering team meets or exceeds milestones
• Manage team performance by assessing and evaluating both individual and collective performance within the team

You Have:

• 8+ years of relevant professional coding experience across a broad range of projects
• 3+ years of experience leading technical/engineering talent
• Experience in a management role within an engineering department
• Strong knowledge of software development principles
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
• Experience overseeing large-scale engineering projects
• Expertise in ensuring compliance and working with legal teams
• Availability for occasional off-hours incident management
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
