Our partners at Seattle Foundation are looking for an Associate Gifts Administrator to join the team!


The Associate Gifts Administrator is responsible for all aspects of gifts management and related accounting reporting. This position is a donor-facing role and works closely with the finance team and cross-departmentally.


Position Highlights

  • Location: Flexible; Hybrid (flexible in office schedule). Office located downtown Seattle; must live in WA state and comply with COVID-19 vaccination policy.
  • Pay: Hiring Salary Range $73,000 to $78,000 Annually, Full Pay Range Grade 30: $54,471 to $84,429 Annually
  • Classification: Full-time/Annual, Hourly/Exempt
  • Benefits: 100% Paid by employer: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, LTD. 403(b) Retirement matched at 5%; increasing to 10% over time, 100% immediate vesting. Annual PTO: 3 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick, 4 wellness days, 15 holidays. Other benefits: $1,200 remote work benefit, $750 wellness benefit, $1,200 transit benefit; optional Flex plan and dependent coverage.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process all gifts, cash, securities, and other assets in a timely manner; including receipt, entry, and liquidation.
  • Ensure philanthropist funds and gifts are in the appropriate investment pool.
  • Manage timely processing of other income and cash reimbursement, and ensure the correct funds and accounts are credited.
  • Produce weekly and quarterly gift reports.
  • Establish new fund accounts.
  • Support the annual audit process for gifts and prepare appropriate schedules.
  • Implement and manage efficient and effective procedures for gifts processing

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience in accounting; fund accounting is preferred
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting and auditing practices and principles
  • Comfort with various accounting software technologies, especially Excel/MS Office products
  • Goal-oriented and pro-active with ability to work independently and approach challenges with a high degree of adaptability and creativity
  • Detailed-oriented with ability to analyze, review and verify accuracy of data; ability to notice and research outliers
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex ideas, financials, and processes clearly and in an engaging and audience-relevant manner
  • Problem-solver with an ability to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement along with an ability to propose solutions while maintaining a robust internal control environment
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports for information, auditing and leadership use
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to effectively collaborate with colleagues
  • Ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Possess personal and professional integrity with ability to work with and manage confidential information
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work outside of core business hours
