Position Overview: The Director of Strategy and Finance will run, streamline, and manage strategic initiatives, operations, and finance. This role requires a strategic and forward-looking individual who can navigate the complexities of the apparel industry, manage the financial resources of a startup effectively, and drive the team towards best-in-class efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Finance: - Budgeting and Financial Planning: Lead the development of annual budgets and financial plans, working closely with the accounting team to align financial goals with company objectives.
- Financial Analysis:Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making, including pricing strategies, product development, and investment opportunities.
- Cash Flow Management:Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the availability of funds for day-to-day operations and growth initiatives.
- Demand Planning: Lead in establishing targets for inventory purchases to optimize inventory, take advantage of price breaks where financially prudent, and ensure financial targets are protected.
- Financial Statement review: Complete a detailed review of monthly financial statements, with an intimate understanding of performance metrics, budget vs actual variance, and other financial drivers.
Strategy: - Strategic Planning: Work closely with the leadership team to develop and hit targets that are core to the companys vision.
- New Project Initiatives:Spearheadnew projects that are outside the scope of current positions.
- Store Roll-Out: Work directly with ownership and be point person as we grow our retail footprint.
Operations: - Supply Chain Management:Assist in overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including vendor relations, product costing, production, and distribution, to ensure efficient and timely delivery of the seasonal lines.
- Inventory Management:Develop and implement inventory procedures both at 3PL and store locations to optimize stock, increase turns, and reduce waste.
- Process Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, drive down costs, and reduce waste.
Requirements - Bachelors degree in relevant field (CPA a plus)
- 10 years of meaningful experience in accounting and operations management preferably in the apparel industry or management consulting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of driving operational and financial improvements.
- Proficiency in financial software.
- Proficiency in Net Suite.
- High degree of proficiency in Excel.
- Team management skills are a must.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively among teams and make data-driven decisions.
